Dr. Edwards, a Vinton, IA, native, graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and located to Waterloo in 1979. In his free time, Dr. Edwards can be found on the farm, hiking with his wife, Pam, or hanging out with any of his eight grandkids.
Dr. Smith, born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, completed his dental education at the University of Iowa in 1996 and moved to Waterloo to join his uncle, Dr. Edwards, in practice. Dr. Smith has a knack for making even the most nervous patient feel comfortable in our office and is always good for a laugh or two.

Only waited a couple of minutes. Staff was friendly, explained all things clearly, maintained a professional attitude , and demonstrated herself in a way that she was knowledgeable of the topic at hand. Office staff was very helpful in setting future apps and when I might be notified. I will be back.

I told them when I started coming to them that as long as I was feeling comfortable coming in the office, I would come in consistently. I have had to change times a couple times, but have been sure to reschedule. Everyone I have worked with! In the office has been kind, thoughtful and gentle. I highly recommend them whenever someone asks for a dentist office!

Let’s start by saying: I HATE DENTISTS!!!!!!
Lots of bad events as I was growing. When I moved to Waterloo I needed a dentist. THEN I found Edwards and Smith. I told them my very strong feelings toward dentist. They listened… I found my heroes! Yes, I still have teeth and gum issues, but they way they handle me, the way they are able to take away most of my apprehension is a miracle in itself. I’ve recommend to others and they also say how awesome their experience was for the issues they needed to deal with.
Today was no different! Once again they helped me through a routine cleaning.

I appreciate the relaxed, yet highly professional mannerism of each staff member I encounter during my visits to their office. Dr. Krurtz thoroughly explains all procedures prior to performing any work, as do all of her support staff. I have never felt pressured into any decision for my dental care.
