Services
Near the beginning of the 1900's the late Claude Logan Ryley, one of Kentucky's leading coal producers and coal dealers, had a fine residence constructed for his family at 161 Broadway in Versailles, Kentucky. Upon his death he willed the home to his grandson, Ken Ryley, who in turn sold the property to Ber Rasnick and the late Scott Miller in the late 1940's.
Our staff is committed to providing support, compassion, information, and direction as needed to all members of our community, their families, and friends who are dealing with loss and grief. Billy Butcher, CFSP, Funeral Director, Embalmer, and Owner of Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home, was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky.

They were absolutely the most caring and professional funeral home we have ever used. Every request we had was completed and with class. They customized so much for our family, we simply could not have been any happier with what was a very sad situation. My dads favorite color was purple and they even wore purple in honor of my daddy bear💜.

Definitely do not recommend them. The staff seemed very nonchalant as we stepped in the door as first comers. The door greeter was on his cell phone and could barely look up to answer my question. The meeting for pallbearers was very unprofessional and could not even express proper terminology when explaining what to expect. He also had a toothpick hanging out his mouth while doing so.

By Far the best in Central Kentucky. Billy, Leigh Ann, & Penny made one of the most difficult times in our family's life much easier & from the first moment of contact with them to present day, they took on the burden of the pre-planning, to arrangements, to the memorial celebration just like they were a part of the family. Now that's exactly how we see them, A Part Of Our Family!!!!
