On vacation. When I tried to leave front desk after checking in car would not start. I found Pugh's on google and called in desperation. They said it would be the end of the week to look at the problem. After explaining that I had to rent a car and book extra lodging for the weekend they said they would try to
get to it As soon as possible. Jayson the technician stayed late one night to replace the starter. In addition to a fair price Pughs saved me hundreds of dollars

Total brake job in May. My brakes went out on the bypass. Scary. Dropped it off on a Saturday. Got it back by 9:30 in the morning on Monday. One of the calipers was faulty. They repaired immediately and at no charge. Beth at the front desk is very nice. I would recommend them. They are one of the busiest shops on the beach.

This place is absolutely ridiculous. I was 2 hrs from home with my 3yr old daughter and had a very bad tire leak. After taking 5 lug nuts off I realized the previous shop that did my state inspection 2 months prior rounded off the tip of 1 lug nut so factory tire iron would not work. I asked them about borrowing a deep well socket to break it loose or paying them to do it after explaining the situation. They wouldn't help at all. Would not even look at it to make suggestions at all while my tire goes flat. Very rude and not helpful at all. So I keep filling with air and riding on rim to

This place appears to have good reviews and maybe the mechanics are decent but the owner, Ray Pugh, is not very honest.
I broke down on the way home from OBX with a family of five. Five quarts of oil sprayed all over the engine block and car. They "fixed" my car in less than two hours on a Saturday, and charged me for three. No harm no foul there. I just wanted to get back on the road. They called with the problem and said they could fix it and they fixed it for the quoted price. Great news.
But then the owner, when ringing me up, says I might want to have the repair done by Toyota

They were excellent, and very, very nice to me. Really, they were a godsend while I was on vacation.
I was run off the road while visiting Nags Head--ended up with a bunch of sand inside my hubcaps, which stay stuck to the wheel unless the nuts are removed. Even if I had had the tools with me, recent spinal surgery would have prevented me from removing them and cleaning the sand out.
It's a minor thing maybe, but meant the difference between being able to drive 40mph and 70mph when I drove back to Atlanta.

While visiting the Outer Banks of North Carolina, our family vehicle broke down. AAA referred us to Pugh's Car Care Center, for towing. I decided to have them look the ailing vehicle over, and to let us know what needed to be done. They were honest with me, made recommendations, and charged me fairly. No one far from home could ask for anything more. If that weren't enough, they were always accessible, professional and courteous. If I ever need auto care while at the Outer Banks, I'd call them.

As a woman traveling alone in the outer banks, I panicked when my car broke down on Rt. 12 at night. I thought for sure I'd be sitting by the side of the road for hours and would then be ripped off with a giant towing and repair bill from God-knows which service station. The AAA dispatcher said I was in luck because the towing and repair facility in this area was the same (pughs) therefore I'd have no towing fee. Sure enough, only 45 minutes later, a nice man showed up, quickly got the story and handled the paperwork and had my car on its way. The next day, I received a call before noon

While on vacation, my car battery died. I called Onstar and they sent Pugh's out to meet me for a jump. They told me it would be 45 minutes before arrival and it was only 5 - 10 minutes. We opted to have the car towed into the shop since the battery was bad and to test the alternator. We told them there was no rush but they had it all taken care of within a few hours. Great service and really friendly people.
