Services
Wild Wish Counseling is a clinical group practice that offers support to individuals across all ages and identity. Through various services and treatment options, we offer an eclectic style of therapies. This requires our clinicians to be highly skilled and knowledgeable in the most recent research and evidence-based treatment for mental health concerns.
Wendy Esther has extensive experience in counseling adolescents and adults. Using trauma informed principles, Wendy has an eclectic style, individualizing treatment as a foundational concept for progress and recovery. She possesses a deep desire to focus on providing the best care using a client centered approach addressing topics such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship adjustments, loss and grief.
EMDR is a method of psychotherapy that was developed in 1986 by a psychologist named Dr. Francine Shapiro, to help people heal from traumatic experiences still affecting them today. Studies and observations showed that eye movements have the ability to reduce the severity of traumatic thoughts under specific conditions.
Instillation of Hope- Therapists can instill hope in group members by acknowledging when members progress toward their goals. Imparting Information - Group members and therapists can help each other by sharing information and offering advice. Altruism - Group members can support, reassure, and help each other improve throughout the treatment.
Addiction is often highly misunderstood and viewed as though addiction can be conquered by mere willpower. Scientific studies have proven that recovering from addiction is much more complex. Drug addiction can happen quickly, however other substances, such as alcohol develop over time, changing the way your brain associates pleasurable feelings and these substances.
