Delay the process and cut down my cash back credit. Lying about the credit card company can't provide them the information they need for three weeks. Horrible customer service and the rate expired. We wasted 800.00 for the inspection fees. Ended up with Rocket Mortgage. Everything done in less than a week.

Horrible lender. First time after multiple mortgages I've had where you've missed a payment for a few days due to human error and lender refuses to wave an $87 late fee. Ps- I am a customer blessed to always be able to make payments early or on time, so this was no joke first offense due to a mistake.
Not believing they were doing this for real, requested to speak to a manager, Dayton Rothrock, came on the line and stated that that was the contract you signed. We don't ever wave any fees, what we do instead if offer you payment plans.
Worst lender I have ever delt with!!

8-18-21. No upfront costs for appraisal, waived as a current customer. I helped speed things along by sending the required information just a quickly as it was received. Having your documents ready and available. The credits paid all the closing costs for a no cost refinance. Everyone was fast with requests, responses, and communication was good. No hiccups along the way. I would recommend this lender. Be prepared with your documents and you can

Horrid customer service. My home refi process was the most miserable financial process I've ever endured. Provident's unspoken message was "we'll be happy to help you as long as you do 95% of the work." In exchange for being a great potential client to Provident, you'll be "rewarded" with a barrage of do-it-yourself deadline-driven cyberhurdles. I learned too late that the 11th-hour hurdle that Patryk S. (California mortgage consultant) threw my way didn't even need to be completed by me--it was actually Provident's responsibility. When I finally

Provident Funding is obviously not aware of how the deed process works in my county/state. My husband and I obtained a Provident Funding re-fi in 2009 through our credit union. My husband died in 2014. With right of survivorship, I provided the county recorder with my husband's death certificate and my husband was removed from the property deed, but a new deed cannot be provided in just my name until the loan release is provided by Provident Funding.
Provident Funding will not remove my dead husband from the loan until I get a deed in just my name (even after providing them with my husband

These guys are the worst I have seen. I have made on time payments for 7 years and somehow they cancel my autopay. So, the payment is late by 1 day and they will not waive the fee.
My home was damaged and my insurance made a payment. Provident funding holds the payment for 6 months.
They are the worst. Stay away from them

Sadly I am here giving a low rating. They used to be pretty good and easy to deal with but now they are just the opposite. I have been trying to close my loan for 4 weeks now and rates are climbing. My loan handler Aaron Wyman has failed to call me even once in 4 weeks even after he scheduled many call to me himself. I have sent 40 emails to him and others at provident withlittle to no response. As the rates climb this company is costing me money, lots of money over a 30 year loan. I am beginning to feel that it is intentional. My advice is go somewhere else unless they staff up and can meet the

This is by far the worst mortgage lender, the worst underwriting, the most time consuming process I have ever applied for a mortgage with. I have had over 20 mortgages in the last 10 years including multiple refinances.
They had over 60 requests for various documentation and each document provided would result in more requests. Some of the requests are so stupid that you question if this company is even trustworthy enough to provide information to. Terrible. I wish I had never applied for a loan with this company. They are the worst lender on the planet. Avoid doing business with provident

This is 4th time applied home loan and the 1st working with Providence funding. The whole process is TERRIBLE. They kept asking irrelevant document . Even after I signed the closing document, still request my pay stub. I wish I did not applied loan from them. Even heard really bad stories of them from title company. If you want have loan application process smoothly, stay away from Provident funding!

Most people who write negative reviews are just angry about something that happened to them which didn't go the way they wanted. As a Yelp Elite, I prefer writing good reviews. Unfortunately I had the worst customer experience than I've had in years. As per another review about Provident's autopay issues, I had the same thing. I've been with Provident for over 10 years with 2 different homes. Somehow they refuse to admit they had any issues with their system. It could be that I was going to refinance at a lower rate with them and then decided not to. They needed to find a way

DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Provident Funding is the most unorganized mortgage lender I have ever dealt with. Having been a customer for years (through our mortgage being sold to them), we were planning to use them for a second vacation home. Days before the close, after having had to complete paperwork TWICE, they tell us they cannot service the mortgage due to not being able to get enough comps for an appraisal (after having already paid that fee). They simply cancelled our application. Unacceptable. Please beware!

If I have a negative rating, I would give them without a thought! I had 2 incidents with them.
For refinancing, their agents are the most indisciplined. They never communicate via phone, or zero responses to their emails. No appointments are scheduled.
Once I made a late payment just over a day from the due date. I had great stress from work, environmental and refinancing hassle. I have never made a late payment in my life. I have an excellent credit score. I made a humble request to waive off my late fee, you know what? the customer service agents are so rude and they never bothered to show

My experience attempting to refinance my loan with Provident was awful.
Despite being a loyal Provident customer for 15 years +, and a credit score of over 800, they made it impossible. My loan consultant Fungai could not have cared less if the loan closed and was of no help.
I've had several loans with Provident. They have always been my go-to company. But I will never use Provident funding again.

Provident charged me twice for mortgage in a single month because of confusion in their autopay system which caused me a lot of stress. When I reached out to them they required a lot of paperwork and a $10 fee for mailing me a check. Can you believe it? So much for being exact and current with my accounts!

My God.
How are these people not in jail?
As others reviewers have mentioned:
"This company is fraudulent"
"Crooks !!"
They hold my current note acquired from my original lender.
So - I figure I'll deal with them because I'm already a customer.
Promises of a big cash out re-fi.
But - had to pay $600 for an immediate appraisal for things to proceed.
Big pressure applied.
BEFORE confirmation of qualification.
Super fishy - never ran into this.
But hey - I'm already a customer.
After the appraisal - no further verbal communication with my "loan officer"
