Founded in 1981, Christian Healthcare Ministries (CHM) is the original healthcare sharing ministry for Christians. CHM is a voluntary health cost sharing ministry through which participating Christians work together to share the burden of medical expenses. The powerful outcome of this harmonious relationship is that members have shared billions of dollars for medical bills while also keeping participation costs low.
Health cost sharing is a way to satisfy your healthcare costs and help fellow Christians while upholding your Christian beliefs and sticking to your budget. Christian Healthcare Ministries (CHM) is celebrating 40 years as the nation's first and longest-serving health cost sharing ministry, providing a cost-effective, accountable and faith-based framework to help fellow believers facing a health crisis.
The qualifications for joining are simple: Participating adults must be Christians who live a lifestyle consistent with CHM's Statements of Beliefs, attend worship regularly as health permits (Hebrews 10:25), and actively follow the teachings of the New Testament in its entirety. That's right: There are no restrictions for membership based on age, weight, geographic location or health history.
Most extensive financial support by sharing 100% of any medical incident totaling $500 or more (as long as all other Guidelines are met), up to $125,000 per illness. Read an example here.
