As essential to my day as a cup of coffee. I've been getting my fitness fix here for five years and they always keep the workouts fresh and challenging. Just the right amount of coaching and a staff that is second to none. As to who has the best playlist, you will have to visit a few times and decide for yourself ;)

Axis is a friendly and high energy place to improve your overall health. In the group classes, the instructors work with everyone individually to coach us based on where we are and help us improve. I started about 6 months ago to improve upper body and core strength and could barely do a push up. I feel so much better now as my strength has improved, my posture is better, and a lot of the muscle pain I was experiencing before has gone away. It''s a fun place to be and has made a big difference in my life!

Best gym I’ve ever been to
Mike Barnhart, the owner, is dedicated
Started with a pinched nerve and limited mobility. After a year of PT, it wasn’t getting any better. After 4 months of 1 on 1 sessions with a carefully constructed plan, my daily pain went from 100 (I couldn’t even type) to about 20 and I can move.
Trainers go above and beyond, facility is clean, group/private/ sessions available.
I cannot recommend Axis enough.
Not sure why there are so many comments about it being expensive…. It is quite affordable.

Top notch training facility with incredible energy, knowledgeable coaches, excellent programming and a welcoming, inclusive environment. I have been a member and worked out in a lot of gyms in the Southeast and Axis is by far the best. As for stength/endurance training in Wilmington, it doesn't get any better.

I signed up at AXIS Downtown after doing a week long trial...such a great decision!!! From the minute I walked in the door, I knew this was the gym for me; I enjoy clean gyms with great energy and group fitness classes!!! The trainers are all extremely knowledgeable, professional, and most importantly...motivating and encouraging! Front desk staff are super attentive and friendly! Highly recommend Axis if you want to see and feel results! Awesome gym, awesome people!!

I have worked out at countless gyms and group style classes over the years (HIIT, yoga, cycling, and more).
AXIS is by FAR the best I have been to for so many reasons. First, they are a local small business and have no "corporate vibe" that so many classes and gyms have. All the coaches know you by name, and that translates to the attention they give in the workouts providing more motivation, and better results. The coaches ensure you are doing movements correctly to avoid injury and get the most out of the workout, tailoring to individual fitness or sports goals, and more.

First, I hardly ever write reviews … more like never, ha! I really felt like I have to share my experience those because I have been beyond impressed with Axis since I joined.
This is hands down the best community of people. The trainers have a HUGE heart for those they serve, they want to see there members succeed in a big way. As a busy working professional, Axis Fitness has been a huge answer to prayer. I show up, and every detail has been thought of. I feel like I am in the most capable hands, and have never had any doubts about the knowledge and professionalism of the coaches.

I've belonged to many gyms over the years and, like many people, I never went. Axis Fitness is different. I’d never lifted weights before and was intimidated about starting out and possibly injuring myself. But, as an older guy just trying to stay in shape, I knew strength training was something I needed to do. Axis really worked with me on my form, giving me the knowledge and skills I needed to feel comfortable and get stronger. The best thing about Axis is the personal coaching they offer. Classes take place in small groups that make it easy to learn, stay motivated, and get to know the other

I jump out of bed almost every morning to join the 5am Group Training at Axis. I love the extremely clean, upbeat facility and you won't find trainers anywhere else who truly care about your experience more than Britt and Mike do. I love the individual attention that is given here, they will watch you to make sure your form is perfect and give suggestions and lots of encouragement. No matter what your current fitness level is you will be appropriately challenged and leave knowing you got a great workout!

Axis Fitness Training is by far the best place to workout in Wilmington! You won't find a more motivating group of trainers anywhere! The energy is AMAZING in the gym and makes it worthwhile to get up especially at 5 am to workout! I love the personalized attention you receive within a group setting. Mike and Brit are very knowledgeable and strive to make sure the proper form and technique are utilized through each movement. Every day is a different workout, a new challenge so there is no chance of boredom and the results are very rewarding. I look forward to breaking a sweat daily at Axis!! Come
