Jines Restaurant
Jines history in the United States started in 1954 when George Gines immigrated from Greece as a 21-year-old. At that time George worked for his Uncles at Critics Ice Cream, where they owned several ice cream stores throughout the Rochester area. In 1961, George transformed the West Main Street location from an ice cream store to a full service restaurant, and that was the birth of their restaurant business.

In 1971, George opened the Park Avenue location and called it Jines. For over 40 years and approaching three generations, Jines has emphasized quality food, excellent service in a clean and comfortable environment. If you enter Jines today you will still see George and his wife Maria. Day to day operations are handled by his son Peter, with the help of his wife Amy and his two boys George and Sam.

I enjoyed myself at Jines with my mom. It has been a while since I have been there. The atmosphere is beautiful, warm and welcoming. It is busy like always but, this time it was pretty quiet for a morning. The wait staff was amazing, funny and enjoyed working.
We each ordered the Eggs Benedict with Lox's, Wow delicious!!! This is a must try! We shared a side of homefries, have to say this was delicious food still a little hungry and had to get some dessert, try the Almond raspberry cake, again... Wowed! I don't know why I am surprised.. they are always on point.
This is a gem in Rochester, on

Delicious food!! Great prices! Excellent service! The menu is quite lengthy so I recommend reading it online before you go. I've been here many times and I don't know anyone who hasn't enjoyed their meal.

This place has been here forever. I came back after 20yrs and it's still a great place to go to. Food is amazing. Mimosas with your choice of juice is the best. But honestly the best part... the warmth of the place. Staff, customers, ambience: I can come as is, super friendly with kids (I have a picky 5yr old and she loves the French toast), and service is fast. Love it.

Made us wear a mask in between eating and drinking, what a joke, NYS doesn't even require we wear masks once seated but they tried blaming it on NYS guidelines, what a joke, if you don't want the hassle I suggest you don't support this totalitarian business.

I don't have any pictures because I forgot lol. But I always go there, this was my first time back in about 4 months and as always, the service and food was amazing. Always a great time when I go here. I had the park Berkeley omelette with a side of potatoes which is my go to every trip. But this is a great place to come with friends and enjoy great breakfast.

I always have great service when I visit here. In this day I was so satisfied. I finally found my go to meal. The hash and eggs where perfectly crisp. No fat in the mean and the eggs just cheese.

The star of the day was the Apple Jack waffle. Why aren't we funding this???? It taste like amazing apple pie. Paired with my apple cider mimosa which I'm sure was more LIQUOR THAN JUICe so you know where to come. Wink wink

Love Jines, period. I won't rant about how the restaurant next door closes their kitchen an hour before they close while, Jines wanted to get that money & stayed

First time here,
didn't wait to be seated and we were waited on right away. The staff was super courteous and very helpful with suggestions since it was our first time seeing the menu. The mimosas are to die for; we shared 3 of the flavors.
I'd suggest you stick the house specialties because that's what we had however if I had the room and/or the time I'd sample the entire menu.

I will definitely visit here again for brunch, and or dinner. Shame we're heading back home tonight.

Many kudos to Rafael...

Wonder dinner at Jines. I had the tuna steak with a veggie. It was cooked exactly as I wanted it. Their menu offers a lot of choices so we have to go back again and again.

We can't wait to go back for breakfast.

They have lots of indoor seating. Terrific wait staff. Thanks Mickayla! There are a few outdoor tables too.

Jines is the place you bring out-of-towners for brunch to check out the Park Ave scene.

Food is consistently good, portions are large and pricing is reasonable.

It's a little more expensive than your average breakfast joint, but at the same time, it's also classier without the greasy-spoon feel.

They have a wide assortment of omelets and sandwiches.

Service is consistently good and I feel like I never have to wait too long for a table, even during prime time.

Fabulous lunch: Grilled Chicken Caribbean Panini was delicious, fries were piping hot (yum!), and my Space Kitty paired perfectly. Service was fast and friendly.

Food was decent. Could've gotten the same at any diner really. Service wasn't great. Server had no personality. Didn't really check back to see if we were ok. When I asked for refill on my coke, he grabbed my cup by the lip... so then I asked for a straw even though I don't like using them.

When I see long menus at places it makes me nervous - how can you do so many things well? I ponder.
This time my expectations were exceeded. I ordered the Orange Marmalade Stuffed French Toast - my server told me that is what always brought her to Jines before she worked here. It was delicious!
You can get maple syrup as a side, which is well worth the extra $1.50.
My brother was also with me and he got a Frittata, which was also delicious.
We enjoyed our outdoor seating and the service was friendly and prompt.

Can't believe this is the first time I am leaving a review here as we have been multiple times, always for breakfast! This is out second time during the pandemic visiting, and both times we have sat outside. It was a bit chilly today but they have recently installed some heating lamps above the tables next to the building outside! Major plus especially for those cool spring days, cool summer mornings/nights etc!

The staff is friendly (as usually) and super attentive! Our waiter made sure we had everything we needed and still kept stopping to make sure we were ok, which I truly appreciate

Dinner feature for Monday, April 5, 2021: Sea Scallops a la York over pasta. Tender scallops, mushrooms, tomatoes, fresh spinach and artichokes in a garlic sherry cream sause. BEST and tastiest scallop dish for $18.95 that came with a dinner salad and bread. Enough food for two. Did a "take-out bag" and had two lunches with the leftovers. Kudos to the chef! (Note: This was our first dine-in dinner in over a year due to being Covid cautious. Have to say I felt very safe seated inside Jine's and with the service.)

We were visiting RIT and looking for cool places to eat and see where locals may hang out. The menu was very big with lots to choose from. The service was very good. We went on a very busy day and were seated pretty quickly considering. Everyone was very nice. I went to try the chicken and waffles. There were many reviewers stating that they were the “best they ever had”. I disagree with these reviewers. The chicken and waffles were very average best. My daughter really liked her Florentine eggs Benedict. Said it was better than average. Overall it was a good experience and if I lived here

Being a nurse, Jines is an important staple in a post Night Shift breakfast and mimosa haul! I think this is every nurses go to spot after work in the morning. I have never had a bad meal here and I just absolutely love all of the eggs Benedict that Jines has to offer. And I especially love it because it's a local joint and during the time of Covid, we should really be diligent about supporting local businesses. they enforce social distancing, require masks for entry, and provide hand sanitizer at the entrance. And weather permitting, they will accommodate people with outdoor seating. I hope

I appreciate this place for having a vegan option for breakfast! The tofu scramble includes two veggies mixed in. It was pretty good! It could have used more seasoning though for sure. Nutritional yeast, paprika, onion & garlic powder, salt & pepper, maybe even some black salt. Just gotta work on adding more flavor.

I felt sage dining here as every other booth was closed and everyone was wearing masks. They ask you only dine for 40 minutes, which is more than reasonable.

I have always loved Jines. I always have great service and great food when I go there. I love that they have outdoor seating along Park Ave in the summer. They also make all of their soups and dressings in-house and this shows the caliber of this place.

Today a friend brought me breakfast takeout and they did a fantastic job! I wish I had taken a picture of my breakfast in the to-go box because everything was separate for my avocado toast so that I could warm things up if I needed to and then assemble it. I reheated the eggs fr a few in the microwave, put the toast in the toaster for a minute

Jines was able to accommodate our "quadruple date" on a Saturday morning for brunch. We picked Jines because of their 5 dollar mimosas - a necessary when dealing with that many people without coffee.

Jines is a fairly priced restaurant with several standard breakfast and brunch staples. The food was of amazing quality and the service was impeccable. Our waitress even offered to split the bill by couple for us so we didn't have to fumble with math.

Between the 8 of us, we had omelettes, pancakes, waffles, avocado toast, and a bunch of other things. Everybody at the table was happy

Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got (before my meal, so-called bread)
I'm still eating at Jine's on the block
Used to order little, now I get a lot
I'm still, I'm still at Jine's at the block

Pretty awesome Diner in Rochester where they have all kinds of goodies and deliciousness. I've also been swindled I mean suede I mean persuaded (damn you voice prediction) into trying their banana bread bread french toast before and it's actually pretty good. I'm not usually into things like that but they do make a good effort with it and it's pretty unique
