Ours is a multi-generation funeral family. J. William Snowdon began our tradition of serving Wyoming Valley families with dedication in 1908. In 1936, his son, Harold C. Snowdon, established his first funeral home on North Franklin Street, Wilkes-Barre. In 1955, our Kingston Branch was opened on Wyoming Avenue and still serves the many communities of the Wyoming Valley.
In 1965, the Shavertown Branch was dedicated. This facility is conveniently located in the heart of the Back Mountain Area and serves families residing in every surrounding borough and township. Richard W. Snowdon and Brent W. Snowdon represent the third and fourth generation of the Snowdon family serving residents in every community of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Services
Handling the loss of a loved one can be overwhelming and stressful, to say the least. Snowdon Funeral Homes helps you manage all aspects of the funeral services of your loved one. Visitation: Often called a viewing or a wake, guests will come to pay their respects to the deceased and spend time with the family.
Snowdon Funeral Homes offers cremation as an alternative for those who do not wish for a traditional burial. For the past few years cremation has been nearly 50% of our business, so we have a lot of experience with this option for your loved one. Cremation can be done with or without a funeral service.
In recent years, there has been an increased interest in pre-arranged and pre-financed funeral services. Talking about death is difficult yet discussions and pre-planning can alleviate many problems that may occur at the time of death. People are realizing the need to record their wishes regarding funeral services.

Brent Snowdon was AMAZING! We walked in and he took care of us like we were family. My mother, Beth Eckert, had met with Brents dad years ago to set up her own arrangements. We walked in upset and he calmly walked us through everything. Our family knew that we were in good hands. He answered all of our questions and even let us hug him with tears in our eyes. He showed such compassion to us. Whenever the need arises again, Snowdon Funeral Home will be who we'll call. #Respectful #Excellence #Family #ThankYouBrent
