Services
Throughout his life, he had been a great community servant and leader. As a teenager, Jim worked on the Lehigh Valley Railroad with his father. He also assisted his Uncle J. Leo Tonrey at the Tonrey Funeral Home in Wyoming. After graduation, Jim proudly served his country during WWII as a soldier in the US Army's 86th Infantry.
Our staff is made up of family, and we are committed to meeting the needs of you and your family. It is our intention to provide you with a comfortable environment, similar to that of your own home, in which to make decisions, greet friends and family, and fondly remember those whom we have lost. We are here 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to respond to your needs.
Are you ready? Many people have not given serious thought to their own wishes regarding finances or funeral services, thinking that they will have plenty of time to settle things later. Unfortunately, we do not always know when the time for that information will needed, and our loved ones are left with the burden of trying to make arrangements as we would have wanted them.
Frank attained the rank of Lieutenant while serving as an aircraft carrier pilot in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He graduated from the University of Scranton and then worked all his life in sales, specializing in building materials for new and remodeled houses. Frank was a member of VFW Post 4909 in Dupont, the Taurus Club, Scranton and a member of the Scranton Pool League.
He was a 1955 graduate of Wyoming Memorial High School. Two weeks after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he became a Tin Can Sailor aboard the USS Hull DD- 945 and the USS Benham DD- 796. His greatest honor was a naval tradition known as Shellback for sailors who have crossed the equator and was granted the title of Trusty Shellback.
