The Sugar Path is a boutique bakery specializing in stylish sweets for celebrations. Starting as a farmer's market stand we now have a retail shop, catering team and online shipping. We started The Sugar Path because we love food; because we know that traditions can be centered around a family table and special food; and because we want to add value in this world by helping to create beautiful memories such as those we have been blessed to have.
Growing up farm to table taught us that when you cook or bake, what matters most is not your recipe, but your ingredients. Picking fresh fruit off the tree and bringing it inside to immediately turn it into pie taught us the value of baking with the seasons. We started our business selling at the farmer's markets.

Services
This is our menu for the Holiday season 2021. Check back often and get on our email list to be notified of when holiday orders open and close. Parts of our regular menu comes down during the holiday season to accommodate this special menu. When ordering opens, it can all be done online here in the shop for pick-up tab or by calling us.
In addition to our Signature Cakes we also feature Seasonal Cake Flavors AND Signature Decorated Cakes. Signature Designs located in our Online Shop on this Site or give us a call at the bakeshop. Party servings are not the same as event style servings. Party servings indicate big slices of cake while event style servings are typically the size you get at weddings: thin 1x2inch servings.
Who doesn't love pie? In our family it was a time-honored tradition to make pie for family gatherings. Pie is the type of dessert that causes people to put their busy lives on pause; to sit down at the table and linger over it with a steaming mug of coffee; to strike up family conversations. We are sorry but we cannot accommodate custom pie orders for one pie not on the menu.
Somedays we want to pull our hair out trying to weed out the important emails from the dog training videos we signed up for. Not that those aren't important too. Second, the only way we can truly get to know each other is to interact and email is one way you can keep up with what's going on. Like the cool events, the classes and the specials.
Our cake jars are ready to eat cake and frosting layered in a portable jar. Jars come in two sizes: small and large. The small jars are perfect for favors, stuffing baskets and stockings, or anytime you want a little treat. The large jars are similar to eating a slice of cake and perfect to take along as a portable way to enjoy dessert.

First off I don't like cupcakes. Too small to eat with a fork, too big to eat with your hands and no corner pieces! But for my wife's Halloween surprise birthday party, they were offering themed cupcakes and it was close to her party location. Long story short...they knocked it out of the park! The decorating of the cupcakes was way beyond my expectations and I will say they were the best tasting cupcakes I've ever had! Whole heartedly recommend this place; someone just needs to invent a square cupcake!

I had some cake jars sent to a dear friend in Iowa, I live in Missouri, for her birthday/retirement. I've talked to my friend the last 2 days and she has been raving about how great these are. She never knew there was such a thing and will definitely be using The Sugar Path for other gift ideas. On my side of things, it was so easy to order and I'll be using you again. Maybe even for myself next time.

The Sugar Path provided the desserts for our wedding and they did not disappoint. They somehow managed to make the planning part super easy- even in a pandemic. My husband and I had fun driving out to Geneva to pick our sample box; everything in it was amazing so we knew we had to book The Sugar Path before their schedule filled up.

We got our wedding cake at this venue. If you book through Cantigny, you get your cake through the Sugar Path at no additional cost to your reception package. We did our cake tasting here and the cake was delicious. We ordered the chocolate cake with vanilla frosting. It was absolutely delicious and it was absolutely delicious on the day of the wedding. However, they are very limited in their decoration abilities. Since they did not use fondant, I was unable to get the simple gold lines I wanted. It was a little disappointing considering I told them what I envisioned and the day of the tasting

The Sugar Path was so wonderful to work with! We ordered small desserts for our backyard wedding, and everything came out perfectly. We ordered 3 different flavors of mini-cupcakes and all were so incredibly delicious. They were even able to accommodate a super last minute request to create a jumbo cupcake so that we can sing happy birthday to my mom. I would highly recommend them! Thank you again, Makenzie!

After living in Geneva for over 8 years we finally decided to try The Sugar Path, and we can't believe what we've been missing all this time! The cupcakes and "do-cups" are amazing. Although you may have to pay a bit more, there's NO comparison between Sugar Path's home-baked items and the baked goods at the "big box grocery stores." Just keep in mind that their walk-in dessert-counter hours are presently limited. They're now one of our Geneva "favorites" -- pleasant staff, highest-quality baked goods!

Ordered a cake from The Sugar Path for a gender reveal party to celebrate a new baby on the way for my brother and his wife yesterday. Let’s just say when I picked it up and saw how it looked, I was very underwhelmed and so was my sister in law. When I placed the order with a woman at the store, she assured me that the blue and pink color would not overshadow the other. THE CAKE WAS PREDOMINANTLY BLUE. Then I asked to have a mix of blue and pink writing, it ended up being YELLOW. What the heck? If you’re going to change what a customer is asking for, please let them know! Isn’t that why you

I'm a stranger to cupcakes. Sent on errand. I was shocked that 12 minis and one regular cake was $28! Clearly I'm out of touch. Talking of touch. Big notice saying 'pay with credit card it's touchless' , then you have to handle a big ol door latch with your thumb and whole hand to leave. Anyway I'm sure the cakes are great as they couldn't change like that unless they have a big following!

We ordered 2 cakes (Churro and Chocolate Espresso), peanut butter cookies, frosted sugar cookies, and a mini cupcake pack for our at home anniversary dinner. I emailed ahead to ask a few questions and got a very helpful reply very quickly. I placed my order online the week before and was able to park right outside to pick up my order. The employee who got my order was extremely nice (wearing a mask) and helped me carry my items into my car. Everything was packaged very carefully. We thoroughly enjoyed everything!!! My husband’s favorite part was the cake to frosting ratio!! They certainly do

I have walked past Sugar Path dozens of times but have yet to try their cupcakes. To celebrate a quarantined-Easter, we decided to support a local business and order a half dozen cupcakes. We ordered 2 chocolate commotions, carrot, churro, vanilla pastels and honey lavender. I am not a huge cake person but I LOVED them! The carrot cake was my personal favorite! The cake is light, the frosting is thick and creamy and neither is too sweet. The presentation was also spot on!

I love the cake and pie from here. The coffee however...that could use a lot of work. I ordered a latte and it tasted like hot watered down milk. Definitely not the kind of coffee I like with my dessert. My husband had black coffee, and he said it was very bland and lacking in flavor as well. So we won't be ordering drinks again, but we were really there for the desserts anyway! The chocolate espresso cake was so good. The cake was moist and the frosting was just the right amount. It had a lovely smooth consistency wasn't too overly sweet. Once at room temperature, it softened up really

We could not have been happier with our desserts! From our wedding cake to the mini cupcakes we could not have asked for a better company to help us with our Wedding day! All of our guests were floored with the quality and taste of our mini cupcakes. Our wedding cake was lavender cake with lemon frosting (which fit our Spring Wedding) it was TO DIE FOR. Oh and my husbands birthday was 3 days after our wedding so I surprised him with a key lime cake (his favorite). They were everything and more we could have asked for on our big day. Thank you to the entire staff at The Sugar Path for making our

Thank you all for an amazing wedding cake! All my guests could not stop raving about how beautiful, majestic and delicious the cake was. We had a gorgeous 5 layer cake that consisted of the first layer being Churro, 2nd layer was King Cake, 3rd layer was coconut with raspberry preserves, 4th layer was chocolate explosion and our fifth layer was coconut with the raspberry preserves to save for our 1st Anniversary. Not only was the cake delicious but the design of the scrolling all around the cake was so intricate and beautiful. It paired beautifully with the flowers that Wild Orchid provided

If there is one style of EATS that always draws me in, is a bakery or cupcakery...it is a personal compulsion I must yield to. So, I was jawing-on about the hogging out I had done down on 3rd street (nearby state street, where the sugar path is located) when I was told in ChicagoLand about this place...the Sugar Path. So I had to investigate.
I ordered a regular coffee, a peanut butter cup cupcake, a churros cupcake (there is also a churros cake available), and a blueberry rhubarb pie slice.
The cupcakes were less top heavy in sugar taste than 99% of cupcakes in America I have eaten. I really
