I received my CPA in 1980, while working for a Big 10 public accounting firm. I was employed in various industries from 1981 to 1992, gaining insight on the inner workings of companies, and I received my MBA from Temple University in 1986. In 1992, I purchased an accounting practice, which has increased in size sevenfold since then.
I handle all aspects of accounting, from personal income tax and advice to financial statements and corporate tax returns. I have clients geographically located all over the United States. My practice is fully computerized, and I attempt to stay at the cutting edge of technology. I do not charge for telephone or e-mail time, and I encourage people to contact me with questions.

In this section, I will present questions that I have been asked by clients and others, and the answers which I feel are correct (kind of an homage to Dear Abby). If a man and a woman have a baby but have never been married to each other, can they both take the child as a dependent? I've been in business for a while now, and I thought I should impart some wisdom unto others.

Unfortunately, I experienced a rather unhelpful set of emails with David regarding our potentially working together. We had a particular situation that required some extra attention, but certainly nothing earth shattering. Mr. Caplan wanted more details regarding our history or needs before providing a quote for services. When I provided those details, he didn't just reply and offer a course of action, he replied that we had a "problem" on our hands. He didn't offer any solutions or recommend we meet to chat or move forward.

Upon reading the other positive reviews on Yelp - I called David to discuss moving money from a PSERS (public school employee's) pension to another retirement plan vs. withdrawing funds for a business startup. I discussed the options with him over the phone for approximately 20 minutes. Although we had never met or spoken before, he gave me tremendous advice and I never once felt solicited. I told David that the next time I'd call him it would be to help me deal with the taxable gains :)

My wife runs her own business and and we had been though 2 other CPAs and not happy at all. I searched on Google and came upon David's firm. What a find. He came to our house. Completed our entire return at our dining room table and best of all gave us tax advice for the upcoming year. That's what we wanted! He's very trustworthy, accurate and charges a very fair fee. We're very happy we found David.
