Geotechnical Resources
When GRI founder's Dave Driscoll, John Creveling, and Stan Kelsay decided to leave their respective larger companies, they came together to turn their dream of opening a small, employee-owned geotechnical engineering firm into a reality. Today, GRI is home to more than 45 talented employees and four office locations.

Our geotechnical, geological, pavement, and environmental engineering services have expanded to service a wide variety of market sectors. Although GRI has grown, we have held on to the small firm mentality and camaraderie that our founders valued so deeply. In 2020, GRI opened a new branch office in Spokane Valley, Washington.
Services
Established in 1984, GRI continues to provide the Pacific Northwest full-service geotechnical, geologic, and pavement engineering solutions for challenging projects. Our dynamic team has provided the right solution for our clients on more than 6,000 projects. We are committed to building trust with our clients through every project experience.
GRI is a leader and innovator in seismic resiliency and pavement engineering for aviation facilities and infrastructure at large international commercial airports and smaller general aviation or private airfields.

Our team is very experienced working on projects that follow Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Department of Defense (DOD) guidelines and we are deeply familiar with pavement- and geotechnical-related FAA Advisory Circulars (AC) and DOD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC).
Development unites the passion and creativity of architecture with the science and innovation of engineering, and GRI provides the geotechnical support to help our partners bring their vision to reality. We continuously collaborate with our partners to develop creative, constructible, and sustainable solutions for projects ranging from small, support structures to high rise buildings.
The energy landscape is evolving at a rapid rate. This industry is currently experiencing an increase for power demand, complex regulations and permitting needs, and identifying ways for distribution to consumers. GRI has been providing services to power and alternative energy leaders across the Pacific Northwest and western United States.
Our collaborative services in geotechnical and pavement engineering, geologic, and hazmat have supported federal projects for essential facilities, including embassies, hospitals, dams, and energy, as well as for medical clinics, offices, transportation infrastructure, landslide mitigation, fish passage, and recreation.
