Is this place the pinnacle of pristine? No. It is a bit old but I wouldn't say worn down. Could use some touch ups but everything worked and everything was clean.
The room was spacious and the courtyard has a nice fountain.
The hot tub was nice too. 😌
You get everything you'd want for the price you pay.
I think for it's price point and considering location, this was a total deal.

I definitely don’t recommend this hotel they charge me 100 dollares deposit for no smoking when I was parking my car there was pleople smoking ???????!🚠they said if I don’t smoke they going to give me my deposit back this happens on July we are on September and I still waiting for may money I call them and they said they already refund the money but that’s not true they said it’s nothing they can do please don’t come to this hotel

Don't stay here. Let me repeat myself, do not stay here. The owners need to sell this pos to be demolished and rebuilt. every room and every square inch of this place is crawling in ants bugs and termites. The owners refuse to do anything about it because this infestation is over ten years old
Clearly they do not have the money to properly maintain this hotel. They need to sell it. It's a hideous eyesore in the city and trust me you'll regret setting foot here.

If I could give a worse review I would. Management is horrible. Rooms were dirty, with dirt and dust everywhere. People were loud into all the hours of the night and wouldn't help until we went down into the office to complain. I also got something stolen and the employee was no help. Spend the extra money to go somewhere else.

This place is an utter joke... first things first we checked in later in the day due to having traveled all day the sarcastic and rude front desk worker claims that our reservation wasn't in there system but I had given the card info name and email I made the reservation under and some how he couldn't find the reservation but did decided to give us the "last room" they had as he wasn't sure what happened. Sounds like he was covering the hotel for there failure as he made room for a group behind us that had no reservation. We get to our room and the odor of the room was

There were two employees that literally have evoked a negative review.
I had booked, re-booked a few times extending out my trip while I was relocating and looking at various neighborhoods and schools.
Most my reviews are positive- I don't like to give a bad review. The hospitality business can be very demanding overall.
I know the hotel has no control over the people who are parked along the rooms on the street but there was a camper that had ongoing fighting, drugs, chain smoking. I personally

Overpriced. I literally didn't want to walk on carpet or let my kids walk on carpet without shoes so I connected both twin bids together to spend the night with my three kids without having to walk to carpet. Which enraged the crazy front desk manager Joanna. She is Terrible who was impolite screaming at my kids. I would fire her in a heartbeat if she was my employee. Definitely needing anger management classes

First, we were greeted by the receptionist with enthusiasm. He made sure all our needs were met. I thought that was a plus. When we got in our room and turned on the first light switch, it wasn't working. Good thing the others did. The room wasn't bad at all. But, the bed needs to be changed. It was old, noisy, and it wasn't comfortable on the back. The bathroom's exhaust fan wasn't working either.
On a positive side, the hotel has a jacuzzi, a pool, a vendo machine, and an ice machine. They also serve free breakfast-cereals, bagels, waffles, boiled eggs, different kinds

The customer service receptionist Dan is so nice and respectful. He is funny too. No matter what complain or request you may have, his tone of voice is very professional.
Now the only downside is the false fire alarm at 330am. Their reason is a power outage but it wasn't really. The A/C and lights were still on while the alarm went off.
I know that they were embarassed on what had happened. It is better to tell the truth than lie. We are not stupid. So i gave this review a 4 star.

They charged me for an extra day without my authorization, I checked out then looked at my bank account found an extra $145 charge from that hotel, make sure they don't double charge you. The jacuzzi was dirty, room just ok, you will pay for the location not the luxury. It has been 4 days now my money has not been returned to my account, don't leave your credit card number they will charge extra days, do not trust that place.

I had a great experience at the Jolly Roger. We stay in the back building because it's a little cheaper but I thought the rooms were really nice and clean. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful every time we went down, so I'm not sure why everybody is thinking the staff is so rude!
Cons: Breakfast was pretty awful. No hot food, just bread, jelly/butter, and cereal.
Also, the pool is tiny.

I would stay here again because nobody can beat the price & you are within walking distance (about 1 mile) from Venice Beach.
The only part I was disappointed with is that I think I shouldn't have taken the "by the marina so literal. I'm from out of town so to me that said you would be able to see the marina. No, you cannot see the marina - I never actually saw it. I think a better description would be "within walking distance from Venice beach" or maybe "one Mile from the beach"
That would be just as good a selling point than "by the marina"

Stayed here with a Groupon last minute. Pretty simple place. Front desk was very friendly, the man kept giving us good suggestions of where to eat and things to see which was nice of him. The rooms are standard. Bed was a little too firm but room was clean. Walls are thin so we could hear whoever was in the room above us stomping around and water running through the pipes so beware if you're a light sleeper. Didn't get to check out the cafe for the continental breakfast because it is only open for that time early in the morning. I think the price was a little high ($130 WITH the

I booked two rooms for 3 nights at this hotel through an online site as the price was far better than anything else in Venice or Marina Del Rey. Looking at previous reviews knew it could go either way so I arrived with high hopes and medium expectations.
Despite arriving 4 hours early on a day after a full hotel, they rearranged our room allocation so they could give us early check in to at least one room to allow us to wash off our 24 hours of travel dust. Great thing is they did it happily without us asking them to; a great start to what turned out to be a great stay at budget
