Great location but room was vey tired and bathroom definitely could do with a bit of paint and update. Good value for location but still very basic. Lovely staff and friendly.

This hotel was nice to stay for the night. It’s located close by the beach. The hotel offers parking but unfortunately we didn’t reach parking that night. We parked in front of the building and had to move our car by 9am.
The room was a decent size but the bathroom was tiny. Thankfully no bed bugs or any kind of insects. I had no noise complaints and the night was peaceful.

It's true I am a light sleeper. However this has to be one of the worst night sleep I've ever had at a hotel. Let me put it this way, my room was right over the office, I thought it would be quiet there. But no, the night manager manager was really loud on the phone from about midnight until 1:15 AM when I had enough and went to knock on the door to tell him to be quiet.. Then a delivery truck rolled up at around that time with the laundry delivery & pickup Right under my room. Guests inconsideratly spoke loudly as they passed my room right near the stairs and in the office in the

I stayed here for 8 nights and will stay there again. They upgraded me from a Queen to a King (thanks). When my flight was delayed they let me check out late...and when I accidentally slept past my flight, the front desk called and woke me up lol. It's expensive, but that's the going rate - and much cheaper than other area hotels. Same for their parking - $30ish/night but I didn't have to worry about my car being towed. Perfect location. I was impressed with the kitchenette, didn't expect that. 2 fridges - wow. I'd def recommend the Bayside.

This place is close to the beach which was nice - about 5 minutes. It is also close to the Santa Monica pier and many shops and restaurants. It is an older property but the rooms have been remodeled. The property is nothing fancy but the rooms are clean and overall the stay was nice. I thought it was a bit pricey but it's California and its near the beach. It seemed like more of a motel but they did have security doors which seemed to make it a bit safer. At night there is a lot of noise since it is so close to the beach. They have some parking in the back for a fee. We parked

The walls were super thin and heard my neighbors banging all night long, but other than that I can't complain. Front desk lady was a delight, and the location was perfect. The room is tiny and the pictures are definitely misleading, but if you are out of town looking for a good hotel next to the pier, come here!

Bayside hotel was a great place to stay. The beach is visible from the front and a quick walk away. The pier and downtown Santa Monica are also within walking distance, maybe 15 mins by foot. There are closer eating options as well. We had no idea with noise while trying to sleep. Parking in the back was $30 a night. They had beach chairs and beach cruisers available which was nice even though we didn't use them. This isn't a super fancy hotel like some of the other places nearby but it's probably one of the best for it's price range. I'd stay again for sure.

The location is great! And 2 of the gentlemen in the check in office were very nice..But way too pricey for what is offered It literally was just meh ( plus the room had this unpleasant odor)! the pics on the site are def deceiving, next time I'll take my time shopping around for a nicer room/hotel.

I have to say I was unsure about this hotel when booking online since I didn't know the area at all. I was VERY pleasantly surprised when we got to the hotel it was in a GREAT location walking distance to everything we wanted to see. The front desk staff were very helpful giving directions and helpful hints of what to see and maybe stay clear of in the evening, (Venice beach) We stayed in the king room with garden view and loved the full kitchen and bathroom. Lots of windows and light in the room. Very quaint and cozy. You can hear some talking of people if in the room next to you. Nothing

This is a great hotel, you can see the ocean from here. They have optional on-site parking, but it's ~$30 (or you could park at the metered parking out front). Within walking distance of Santa Monica Pier. The rooms are a bit small, but nicely made up. Overall I enjoyed it!

This hotel is perfect in every single way. I come to SM at least once a month for business and am so grateful that I've found this place. Now I bring the whole family every chance I get. The front rooms view is incredible, it's like you're right there on the sand, and the atmosphere feels more like a beach house. The hotel is always super clean, and all staff is friendly and welcoming. Robert, the general manager has outstanding customer service skills and will make sure your family is safe and happy.
Parking lot is safe and there are cameras all over the building. Ice machine,

The Bayside Hotel is not safe!!! Don't trust the employees. You won't know who has access to your room - and management could care less. Not even the police were helpful. Stay clear!

My girlfriend and I are wrapping up our 5th and last day here. We will be back. The hotel, which I was told was recently remodeled, is wonderful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly, courteous, and helpful. They have complementary beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas to take to the beach, which is across the street and a 5-10 minute walk to the pier. Highly recommended.

Planned this little staycation to escape the heat in the valley and the fact that our electricity was going to be turned off for maintenance of power supplies in the valley.

Beautiful view! walking distance to the beach literally across the street.

Nice small quaint hotel. Rooms appear clean.

Fridge in room, TV, AC, desk, small closet, keurig, and ceiling fan.

We got lucky and found a metered parking spot right in front. After 6pm it's free.

We arrived around 5:40. Check-in is 4-6 pm.

Let me preface this by saying I am not trying to be negative, but just honest.

I gave this property

Recently stayed here for a girls overnight trip with my daughter. We enjoyed ourselves. The room was clean, nicely decorated with beach decor. Bed was decent. Within walking distance to the beach. We were able to spend the evening at the Santa Monica Pier had dinner and walked on the beach then next day went and enjoyed the day at the beach. Overall experience was nice and comfortable. The only complaint is in LA all hotels you have to pay about $30 for parking I don't blame the hotel they have to do what they have to do especially being close to the beach. Parking lot is small on a first

Im going to start with what ever this says on there website is a lie even on booking.com i stayed here and there was no jbl speaker, no mini bar (you had to go up front where there they sell the snacks) and the bed made my back hurt. I could say the only ! Good thing about this place was one of the staff and that its really close to the beach im a disappointing customer ! And i wouldn't recommend this place cause of the lies on advertisement.

Recommend. It must be recently renovated because everything in the room seemed new, clean, and fresh. Great location to walk to pier or restaurants. It's like a lil cute beachy boutique feel hotel/motel, not the Plaza. I booked a room downstairs with a patio and the room even had a cute little kitchen which I didn't even know it had. Really worth the money. Here's the but, the walls are like paper thin if people are outside on the patio you will hear them. I am impressed with management too because the night I was there, there was a giant girl fight amongst the guests sitting in

Great little hotel. My first time staying in Santa Monica via hotel. The vibe is definitely a beach vibe the staff is friendly. My only gripe is the parking lot is pretty small. Besides that your walks away from the beach. I did morning runs on the beach during my stay. Rooms are clean staff is friendly and accommodated my needs

I've stayed here twice since reopening a few weeks a go to go mountain biking with my daughters up in the SM mountains. Clean, nice and the staff is very nice. I was delayed by hours getting back to check out and they were very cool a bout it. Also regarding Covid and other hotels at the moment: the advantage of a motel? - no lobbies to walk through and no elevators - right to the room. On the ocean, clean air. Can't beat it. I've also stayed here 15 years ago before the remodel. And it was good then. Oh, and go to Cha Cha Chicken. It's delicious.

This is the best kept secret in Santa Monica! I've lived here forever and needed to relocate temporarily and was delighted when I checked in here - from Robert, the manager, to desk clerks Chris and Costas (sp?) and all the wonderful maintenance and cleaning family, I was embraced with friendly professionalism even though I had to keep extending and changing my booking and having things delivered, and having my dogs come and visit, etc. I ended up living there for 2 months, and loved every minute. Staff is always available, never intrusive.

Charming and comfortable place to stay in Santa Monica and I would gladly stay again! Our friends got married at Shutters on the Beach and this was super conveniently placed.

We booked early on a discount site, which helped with the steep price that is all you'll find if you want to be this close to the beach.

The rooms were very clean and the decor seemed recently updated. The bathroom was spacious. There is a generous variety of snacks and drinks for purchase. Bed is comfortable.

You are steps from the beach and on a quieter strip of beach which is a blessing.
