It has been my privilege to represent the people of Wilkes and surrounding counties since 1976. When I started my practice, I pretty much took any kind of case that I was lucky enough to come through the door. That continued through the first few years, but gradually changed as business increased and my time became more limited.
Consequently, for the last ten years or so, my practice has become limited to solving problems of child welfare and families. I've also stayed actively involved with real estate, wills and estates and various kinds of civil litigation. As a sole practicioner, every case is personal in some way, and all are personally handled.

Born in Radford, Virginia, I was raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1969-1976. While there, I earned a degree in Journalism (1973) and a Juris Dotor in 1976. Since 1976, I have worked and lived in Wilkes County, North Carolina. Over the years, I have served on many community boards and organizations.
My family law practice is not limited to divorce related issues. I offer services related to all legal facets of domestic relationships. These include not only husband-wife matters, but also grandparents involvement in custody and visitation; domestic violence problems involving spouses, children and "significant others;" and all aspects of child welfare, including Adoption and Termination of Parental Rights.
Providing clients of northwestern, North Carolina with professional legal services since 1976, the firm offers legal assistance in several areas. Generally, these areas are family law issues such as custody and divorce; real estate matters including home purchase closings and land disputes; as well as wills and estate planning.
