Playing It Safe Home Inspection
Home inspectors are an important part of your home buying experience. When choosing a home inspector, it is crucial to do your research for a quality home inspector. Experience comes from years of inspecting homes. Also know your home inspector's background in the construction industry. Having additional licenses such as a Residential Builder's license speaks volumes for a home inspector.

Another aspect is how your inspector is going to inspect your home. Will they have the proper tools with today's market, i.e. Drone (high roofs) or infra-red for hidden areas that can't be seen with only a visual look. One of the other important issues with your home inspection is the report. Does it have photos?

I took the Playing It Safe Home Inspection training class so I could become a home inspector. The class is focused on learning the material so you can pass the exams, which are fairly rigorous in my opinion. In addition, you get info and resources about setting up your business, marketing, etc... You also get access to Walt's decades of experience in this industry. In my opinion, I received great value for the time and money I spent on the class. I know Walt's knowledge and training materials were the key to me passing both exams on my first try. Without his class, I wouldn't have had a prayer

After careful consideration, I chose Walter as my instructor to help me pass the South Carolina Home Inspection License course. Great Decision! Walter was a knowledgeable (and entertaining) instructor. He gave our class all the pertinent information we would need in order to pass both parts of the SC Home Inspector State Exam. I most definitely recommend Walt's class to anyone seriously interested in a career as a SC Home Inspector.

I highly recommend Walt Hennegar and his home inspector school, Playing it Safe Home Inspections. He is a very qualified instructor that gave me all of the tools and training to launch my own successful business as a Professional Home Inspector. The training was very practical and relevant and definitely equipped me to pass the SC State exams, both on the first attempt. We were referred to Walt by our realtor, being from out of state, Walt conducted a thorough home inspection and provided us with a very detailed report. We are extremely happy and satisfied with our inspection, Walt pointed out several areas of concern and detailed each in his report. Overall the inspection was done in a timely manner, very detailed and very professional and allowed the mortgage process to progress without any issues.
I would highly recommend Walt as your inspector, he has vast building knowledge and understands the complexity of every facet of home building. He even explained

Had these inspectors in our home today - and they left multiple entry points open from all the windows being open to a 800,000 dollar home open after an inspection - as well as ran our water for 1hr and 23 min after saying they needed only 45min. Unprofessional not what I would advise for a Low Country - "Southern Like" trusting company. Advise - if they are at your home be aware of their misconduct and your safety to yourself and home . DO NOT USE.

Walter Henegar performed the inspection of a home that I was planning to purchase in Sun City, Hilton Head. I was on the premises during the inspection and found that his inspection was very thorough, both inside and outside. It included a complete examination of the living areas of the house as well as the attic and the very extensive irrigation system for the landscaping. He pointed out some aspects of the house that needed attention. Overall, I give him a 5 star rating.

Walter is not only a great inspector, but a great instructor as well. He was a big help to me in gaining practical knowledge of the home inspecting business. He has a great attitude towards helping buyers, agents, and anyone else involved understand the specifics of the inspection. If you have a chance to work with Walt, you should definitely take it. You will not regret it.

I used "Playing It Safe Home Inspections" to inspect a golf cart garage addition and a complete re-roof of my house. Walter arrived for the inspection on time and did a thorough inspection of both for a reasonable price. He found several defects that I had not seen and explained each to me. He also took a picture of each issue and included the… pictures in a written report that he sent to me the following day. I was able to use the report to require my contractor to make several corrections before I made my final payment. Walter clearly has a good understanding of construction standards

We have lived in the Beaufort/Bluffton, SC area our whole lives and just had a new home built. We have had several other homes built and had some concerns over this one. We met Walt and were impressed with his friendliness and knowledge of homes, and also found out he was a licensed contractor and home inspector. Walt did a home inspection for us and was very thorough and professional throughout the process. He listed items we were able to give to our builder to correct/fix. We would recommend Walt (Playing it Safe Home Inspections) to anyone!

I used them three times during my search process as a first time home buyer and was pleased with the experience. There was a few times that I came across some pictures of homes online that had some troublesome photos and I sent it to them just to get their take and see if it'd be worth me touring the home and they gave great feedback each time whether I should or not. As far as inspections on homes I actually visited, they did a thorough job of documenting their findings and giving us an explanation on what they thought of the things that they came across. Walt and Brandon are pros!

Wonderful company! I recently purchased my first home which was an older 1970's home I fell I love with. Naturally I was nervous about the inspection but Playing It Safe did a great job of inspecting my home. They're personal, willing to answer questions and gave a very through report with great picture quality. They helped to make the process of home ownership very understandable and even offered suggestions on how to fix and monitor items. I definitely would recommend them.
