The term "kogei" is a Japanese word that translates loosely to "craft." Pronounced ko-gay, it is used to describe works created by both traditional artists and those manufactured by craftsmen and artisans. What sets kogei apart is that the creators strive to unite design with an understanding of the essence of the materials being utilized.
Kasamori is a studio in Japan known for embroidering the belts of kimonos. For over 140 years, Kasamori has perfected their craft and now seeks to bring this tradition into the 21st century. The DNA earrings are meant to represent to molecules that makeup our DNA. The Plant earrings were created as an appreciation of the beauty and art found in nature.
With an emphasis on meticulous craftsmanship and timeless design, each one of Christine's pieces is carefully handmade and imbued with the spirit of the ocean. All of the sea glass used in our jewelry has been collected on the pristine beaches of Hawaii, Puerto Rico and California. We do not alter, cut or condition the sea glass in any way.
Cherry blossoms in spring, festivals in summer, the turning leaves of fall, and the white landscapes of winter. The artisans complete each piece with a smoothness that can only be achieved using a blowing iron with refined skill and ability. With emphasis on the Japanese seasons, Tsugaru Vidro captures infinite expressions like the changing scenery through its color combinations.

BRILLIANT LOOKING STORE! My wife and I had a browse through here today. The friendly sales assistant Brooke was so helpful explaining the variety of quality hand made products sold in the store. My wife found 2 pairs of hand crafted earrings made in Canada by an architect. There was a store sale on and my wife got 20% off both pairs of earrings to bring the cost down to $30 each. What a bargain! So there were lots and lots of wonderful hand crafted pieces here by talented artists from all over the United States. We saw home decor items, women's fashion apparel, fine jewelry and many more beautiful

This is a nice high -end shop with an excellent variety of hand made artifacts from all over the US. $$$$
It would be nice if they made more of an effort to support more of the many extraordinary, talented and gifted artists who work and live locally. Shame on them. Solana Beach is a local artists haven. Support the locals!
