Acupuncture is a therapy recognized throughout the world. It is experience based and was developed in China more than two thousand years ago. With its long history it has survived through time and is gaining a resurgence of popularity in today's world. The World Health Organization has accepted and approved the use of acupuncture to treat more than a hundred conditions including pathologies of the body's systems.
Neuro-Acupuncture is a contemporary acupuncture technique interpreting traditional needling methods with Western medicine neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, neuroscience and neurological rehabilitation. The structure and functions of the brain anatomy overlays with a specific scalp area. By stimulating those areas under the skin, we stimulate the brain for a particular function.
Gua Sha has been used in China for as many as two thousand years. Gua means to scrape or rub. Sha is a reddish skin rash(petechiae). First herbal or massage oil is applied to a specific area on your body. I then use a smooth gua sha tool to apply short brisk strokes to that area. This creates red patches of skin (called "Sha"), detoxifying your blood and restoring the healthy flow if Qi (energy) to the area.

Judita is a true healer. She instantly makes you feel comfortable and is able to get to the root of what is bugging you right away. I came into Judy's office after a friend invited me to see about her services. I was suffering from intense sinus pain which I didn't expect to be treatable with acupuncture but I was open to try it along with a cupping massage as a way to generally bring me relief. I am very happy to find Total Wellness Acupuncture in the Metrocenter area.
I went to see Judy for a frozen shoulder. The lack of movement and pain was unreal. They were able to get me in the next day.
Judy had done acupuncture and cupping on me. In 3 visits, I had movement from my shoulder and a lot less pain. She is amazing. I highly recommend her. Her abilities and genuine kindness shines through.
