We recognize that being a parent is very hard work. You can read all the books (if you have time!), which sounds good on paper. But often, applying what you learn with your family is a whole different issue. And with the plethora of self-help parenting books on the market, weeding through the guidance to find what works can quickly consume your time and energy.
Social issues for preteens in school are highly common, and factors like bullying can take a toll on children's emotional wellbeing. Preteens are going through big changes, which can create an emotional divide betweens parents and their kids. During this time, many children talk less to their parents and start showing a higher need for privacy.

I have known Mark Loewen professionally for seven years and personally for four. From both perspectives I can say he is one of the best, most insightful and knowledgeable therapists I know. I do not hesitate to refer children and families to him for treatment, knowing they will receive quality treatment and often seek his professional consultation in his areas of expertise as well. As a business owner, Mark has maintained his ethics which makes me also comfortable with referring to anyone he has contracted with.

I have known Mark both professionally and personally for 10 years. He has a true heart for this work and is an incredibly gifted therapist. I have referred many children and colleagues to Mark and can say without hesitation that I would trust him with my own child. He is well versed in a variety of treatment approaches and ultimately believes that what works for one may not work for another--- he is truly person-centered and practices with integrity and compassion. I feel honored to call him my friend and colleague.
