Dr. Stephen Hicks was born in Texas. Due to his father's position as an engineer with Exxon, Dr. Hicks moved to California during high school and graduated from Slidell High School in 1972. He received his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of New Orleans and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at LSU Dental School.
Dr. M. Bancroft McMurphy was born and raised in Mobile. He graduated from UMS-Wright High School, Rhodes College, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham Dental School. After dental school, he obtained specialty training in orthodontics and periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. McMurphy is board-certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, and is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists.
