The health and safety of our families, guests, and the general public is very important to us. We will be closely monitoring the situation and will adhere to the recommendations and guidelines issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the CDC. We will continue to conduct wakes and funeral services and will add extra disinfection procedures to our regular routine.
We encourage the personal protection procedures recommended by the CDC. The health and safety of our community is very important to us as we continue to honor our loved ones. If you are not comfortable attending funeral services, please continue to offer prayers, and take a moment to send a card or leave a condolence on our website.

Services
In 1920, John C. Burns bought a storefront on Norfolk Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Traditionally, funerals were held in the home and undertakers occupied small offices to meet families and show a small selection of caskets. As the demands of funeral service providers changed, a new trend of using a funeral home to have both the wake and funeral became more common to better serve the needs of families during a difficult time.

To do that, it's best you know a little about us first - please explore this section so that you may learn about our caring staff, our beautiful facilities, and our history of service.

This section contains useful information about funeral options, what to do when death occurs, information on writing an obituary, and recommended funeral etiquette.
Taking the time to arrange your funeral now leaves one less thing your loved ones will need to worry about once you've passed. We are here to help you every step of the way. This section contains useful information about the benefits of pre-planning your funeral, pre-payment options, and our online pre-arrangement form.
Preplanning your own, or a loved one's, funeral prior to death allows you to express your own wishes. Preplanning relieves your family of making stressful decisions at a difficult time. Preplanning does not require prepayment, however, a prepayment option is available. The Burns Funeral Home is here to assist you with your funeral preplanning.
