Elgin's Fine Jewelry was founded in 1986 by Richard Elgin. Mr. Elgin began his career in 1973 at Campus Jewelry, a small store located near the campus of Louisiana State University. It was here where he developed his passion for the jewelry business, especially for diamonds and bridal jewelry. Since opening his own store, he has strived to provide customers with impeccable customer service and fine quality diamonds and jewelry at a great value.

Great service. I went here looking for an engagement ring for my soon-to-be fiancée and they showed us their selection and discussed with us how engagement rings and wedding bands worked as we didn’t really know. I appreciated their time and patience with us. I fell in love with a gemstone ring they had shown us and ultimately chose it after reviewing many other rings elsewhere. After months and months of looking at local jewelry stores for my five year engagement ring upgrade, my husband and I stopped in and was lucky enough to work with Richard Elgin himself and he was more than happy to work with my husband and I on our specific request. The process to custom make my ring was super easy and quick (and within budget) . No high pressure sales tactics just genuinely wanted to help with our special request. My fiancé and I went to look at wedding bands the other week and the employees that we spoke with were wonderful and did their best to help us! I would give the employees 5 stars. The manager was a completely different story! I believe his name was Toby and he spoke so poorly to his staff about how they were going about helping us that it made both my fiancé and I extremely uncomfortable!!! I nearly said something to him because it was so unprofessional. It makes me angry thinking about it and I feel bad that the staff has to deal with that miserable man on a regular basis! I took my Shinola here to have a few links taken out. They charged me $15 dollars and it fell apart where they took the links out a week later.
After going to another shop, I learned that they didn't properly put the sleeve in and lost most of the sleeves that went with the pins to secure the links in place. Thankfully, I had one sleeve and the other store was able to fix it. I will now have to contact Shinola (the watch company) for more pins and sleeves.
