Services
Alex is our eldest child, and chances are good that you will be greeted by her smiling face. Always eager to help with sharp problem-solving skills, Alex is a stellar assistant manager at the front desk. She's also keen on social media and using the inn's new reservation software. The newest member of the family, Alex's young daughter Ava, keeps Alex plenty busy when she's not at the helm of the inn.

Nice photo of hot tub is why I booked, it's been broken for a year so why is it listed as an amenity? No elevator, keep that in mind, no handicap accessible, restaurant/bar closed at 7:30. It's ok for no frills hotel.

Really nice place to stay while in placid. Family owned and run, so you know they go the extra mile to make you feel right at home

Very affordable, good location and nice staff. Rooms and beds are comfy. It is of course a very old inn but it is kinda cool!

A historic 1907 hotel fairly close to downtown Lake Placid (about a 7 min walk). It's pretty pricey per night (spent around $190 with tax) and dated in parts. The building does not have an elevator, and the pipes are old. The room does not have a fridge, and the tv did not work during our visit. However, Jill was extremely friendly and kind during our stay, and checking in/out was very easy. The beds are VERY comfortable after a long day of hiking and there is a ceiling fan in the rooms. Wifi worked well, and I'd say this hotel met my needs fairly well.

This is a wonderful location with easy walk to downtown. The Lake Placid trails are a very short drive or bike away. The room was updated and comfortable. The price was very resonable. I would recommend this Inn to anyone I know. Lots of space in the common areas to spread out.

We had a great experience here. Although the rooms are very dated, they are clean and the staff very helpful. The photos show the age but again very clean. Jill was very nice at the front desk. One thing to point out, there are no elevators and although we had a first floor room it was up 2 fights of steps. Close to main street with a restaurant on the property.

Nice, clean hotel! We were called ahead of time to do a self check in and the left the key at the front desk for great social distancing! They also have a restaurant right on site. Not far from the main strip for shopping either

Not the fanciest hotel but totally acceptable for a weekend hiking or exploring the ADKS if you don't want to camp.
There is no elevator and it has many floors, so if stairs are a problem, take that into consideration.
The bathroom was laid out kind of strangely in a way that made it feel like there was not much space and it was kind of hard to move around or get dressed in it. But, bathroom was clean.

This is a great place if you keep in mind it is a 111 year old place. The room is pleasant, albeit smaller than most hotel rooms, though in line with what you would expect for a turn of the last century place. The on premises bar/restaurant is pleasant as well with good food and reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend as long as you keep in mind it is a historic hotel (the old Hotel St. Moritz).

The Pines Inn had some great qualities...it’s unique, attached restaurant/bar, hot tub, friendly staff. However...for me, the most important aspect of a hotel is cleanliness...and the room was unsatisfactory. There was black hair all over the bed, stains as well, the bathroom was not clean, we had to wait about 5 minutes for hot water to come out of the faucet/shower each time we turned it on, and we could not regulate the temperature in the room. If they could work on their housekeeping and lower their prices a bit, I think it would be a great place to stay.
