2 towels in the room. Have to call and leave multiple messages and they don’t return calls. Had to wait 24 hours before we got additional towels. One soap bar in the bathroom for the entire stay. Furniture was dusty, dated and old. The cost of the room does not justify the price. I would not stay here again.

My family has been visiting Lake Placid for years. Placid Bay Inn is a gem that I wish I discovered sooner. I have had the pleasure of staying in Mallard Bay twice now and it’s an experience you won’t forget. The cottage has a modern feel, while still staying true to that Adirondack theme. I woke up each more to the ducks and sunshine coming through the loft window. It was such a memorable experience.
Thank you to the General Manager Emma for going above and beyond to accommodate our needs.

I had the pleasure of staying in the Country Comfort with my 2 friends for a girls weekend and it was absolute perfection. The cabin was clean, the beds were extremely comfortable, the sheets were soft and cozy, the decor was super cute and the fireplace was amazing! Did I mention the view?! OMG the views...Unmatched. Truly. The front porch and deck right in front of you, we enjoyed our coffee out there every morning and it was so unforgettable. I needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of work and truly immerse myself in nature and this was the perfect place for that. Amazing location..

Loved our stay at Placid Bay Hotel! The recent remodel was beautiful and the view was incredible. I loved the ease of “self check-in” and the form they sent after to ask what improvements they could make - that shows they care about what they do. I made a couple minor suggestions but overall the experience was amazing and I would definitely stay here again!

Me and my fiancé were looking for a affordable nice weekend getaway in lake placid and after looking at multiple hotels this was the most affordable, it had good reviews so we decided to give it a chance, and we were glad we did! The rooms were clean and nice, the property was great, fire pit, paddle boards and kayaks available, and right on the water!, we definitely recommend this place! And look forward to visiting Placid Bay again on our next trip!

After months of quarantine and continued warnings of caution during the Coronavirus crisis, our family of 4 (we have 2 teenagers) was looking to get away, but not too far. We travel internationally 1-2 times a year, and we knew that was not possible. We decided to return to the ADK, only a 6 hr. road trip from our home in Western NY. We rented the Country Comfort Cottage for a week. It was exactly as depicted in the pictures on the Inn's website. Very clean, comfortable, with beautiful views of Whiteface from the front windows and porch. We had ADK chairs out on a little dock right next

Would absolutely recommend to anyone. Can't think of a single negative thing to say. Saw that someone complained about no iron, and maybe certain vacations this would have bothered me but I was just enjoying the beauty of the area and could care less about wrinkled clothes. Did not want to leave and will go back again if I get the chance!

Ok I'll start out with the workers/owners are just wonder. Extremely helpful and very friendly from the time you check in to check out. Also possibly one of the comfiest beds I've experienced at a hotel in a while.
Ok now for the negative. I went on a busy weekend so price was $175 a night which I thought was pretty pricey considering how small and outdated the rooms are. Also it was listed as in town, which to me would mean you could walk to the shops and restaurants. However that's not the case, we still had to drive and pay for parking which was annoying because we have

My sister gave us a gift certificate to Placid Bay Inn as we like to take weekend get-aways to Lake Placid (from Stowe, Vermont where we live). At first I was disappointed that it was not right in the village. After a day I realized it has many benefits of it's own - proximity to Placid Bay and gorgeous xc and snowshoe trails, an eclectic restaurant right next door and it was quiet and relaxing. It's also on the edge of town and very walkable. I'd stay here again. It was super clean and comfortable which is a must for us. Nothing super fancy and our "fireplace" was nice

Excellent budget place to stay in the town of Lake placid. Huge price gap from other hotels and it's only a few minutes away from the main strip. Hospitality was way above average. The view of Whiteface mtn, especially while sipping wine on the Adirondack chairs in their lakefront backyard, was better than expected. They even had delicious fresh picked apples for you in the office! So while it's not a 5 star hotel, our experience there was.

Great value and marvelous views across Lake Placid to the high peaks. A short stroll to Mirror Lake and the village main street; fifteen minute walk to the hockey arena. Welcoming hosts, well appointed rooms, free wifi, even dishes in the cupboard. Unlike much more expensive places, this inn is directly on the water. Have stayed at fancier hotels in the area but would come back here in a snap. It's just right.

Yes, the rumors are true, Placid Bay Inn is in fact an Adirondack Motel and not the Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi. Perhaps I'm not as fussy as some other reviewers, but I really like this place.
I've stayed here two winters in a row for Lake Placid/Whiteface trips, and like it enough that I will continue to do do. The rooms I've had were spotlessly clean both times, and everything was in good working order. The shower remains hot for long apres-ski showers (ladies, you'll be happy to know there is a dryer in each bathroom.), and it's conveniently close to downtown Lake
