My husband and I recently dined at DeWolf Tavern, enjoying the Tandoor Roasted Chicken and Lobster. Will you explain what a Tandoor Oven is? Many Thanks! The Tandoor oven is cylindrical and heated with charwood (not briquettes). It reaches temperatures up to 900 degrees - immediately searing the food exterior and maintaining the natural juices which enhance all flavors.

Had Christmas dinner here. First time going and all the great things I had heard about it were right on. Food was excellent and our server was fantastic. She was a young college age woman but handled our table of ten with ease while also handling at least 4 other tables at the same time. Wish that I could remember her name so I could give her the recognition she deserves. I would and have recommended the DeWolf multiple times since this dinner and I can't wait to go back.

I went to this place for Christmas dinner with my family.The view was excellent overlooking Bristol Barber. We had the baked brie, and some other appitisers, all were excellent. I had the chop. It was great with mashed potatoes.The coffee was press pot. I loved that. The manager was the best! Service was Excellent! I'm going back soon.

They ruined our Christmas. Overbook. Worst food that we waited 2 hours for. They had some nenerve opening when they knew they could not accommodate the crowd they had booked. No chef would ever have put out food like that. No manager there. They stuck the poor event manager in who had never managed the restaurant before. Poor girl cried out of frustration and apologized for ruining our Christmas.

My family and I dined at DeWolf Tavern for the first time on Christmas Day.
1. Food Quality: This is 99% of the reason for such a critical review. The quality of the food was very low. The stuffed lobster was served so dry that its color turned a light yellow due to having been previously frozen and overcooked. Nearly all of the meat had dissipated by the time it reached our table, and after looking at other tables, we weren't the only ones. This is Rhode Island and Bristol at that; get it together.
It was clear the crème brûlée came straight from the fridge, presumably because it was prepared

Food was decent. Service was unbelievable. We went there as a family on a Saturday evening, 6:30pm reservation. We got our entrees at 8:45pm!!! The chef appeared to be out chit-chatting in the dining room most of the night, while guests sat with no food and no water. We had a cocktail, finished an entire bottle of wine and still waited ages for our food. Staff was all very apologetic, but the restaurant is having massive management issues. Do NOT recommend :-(

The service was ok, they didn’t bring what we order on time, two of our guests were vegetarians and we found out that they mixed their food with sea food. That was really disappointing. We ordered toasts and we have to ask them for butter and by the time it arrived we already finished our food. I don’t recommend this restaurant to nobody. Really bad experience

We have enjoyed this restaurant in the past but this evening was far from good. The appetizers were very good but waited 20 minutes for a beer, after reminding the waitress. For entry, ordered the cod which was supposed to have chorizo, fingerling potatoes, neither were on the plate and the sauce was a watery, unreduced wine sauce. A totally unremarkable dish. My wife ordered the vegetable plate and it was cold and unappetizing. If good it would have been worth the $24 (really, for vegetables?) but badly prepared and cold, not so much.

The food and cocktails were scrumptious. The waiter was delightful and the atmosphere terrific. The only negative was my husband's dish was supposed to have scallops,along with lobster, crab, and shrimp. They ran out of scallops, and substituted salmon and didn't tell us. That was a little disappointing.

My granddaughter and I enjoyed lunch at DeWolf today. Ian, our waiter did a descent job in serving us. However, it took longer than expected for the food to be delivered. But the wait was (kind of) worth it. My granddaughter had the filet bistro, which had a great presentation and proved to be just as delicious as the presentation looked. I had the cod and clams with Portugese sausage. I believe this may be their signature dish. It too was delicious.

Really love this place but really disappointed today. We had breakfast on Sunday and our 20$ tab turned into a 130$ tab. My husbands card was apparently accidentally swiped for the wrong bill. Instead of telling us they voided it thinking it wouldn't show up and debit out of his account. WRONG. It debited out of his account and now we are waiting for the refund all while checks are bouncing. It took him calling today to figure out what the issue was. If they told us what happened on Sunday we wouldn't have gone and bought groceries on Sunday. This makes me not want to go here ever again

My husband and I walked in around 3:30pm and waited at the hostess station for about 10 min before anyone came over to us. The place was not busy at all, there was a few people eating at tables outside and another few inside and a couple of people at the bar. When the hostess approached us she informed us that the restaurant was fully booked for the entire night and they had no seats for us. We asked if we could sit at the bar, as there were at least 2 seats that we could see open (separated from the others with plexiglass) She informed us that those seats were reserved too.. We have just moved to the beautiful little town of Bristol. In casual conversations with new neighbors, DeWolf Tavern kept getting mentioned as a place to find great food and drink. Our new neighbors were right. In the last two weeks we have been there twice. Amazing lamb lollipops, chickpea battered shrimp in a sweet dipping sauce and the most amazing Old Fashioneds we've ever had.

If you are looking for a fancy, decadent meal in Bristol Dewolf Tavern is the place to go. The building itself is beautiful. It is a historical building with stone and brick walls. You can sit outside on the Bristol Harbor, outside on the patio or downstairs, which has more of a tavern feel or upstairs which is a little fancier with a fireplace. I love this restaurant and I always get the lobster popover! Everything is delicious there but that lobster popover is incredible! Yesterday I went there for Thanksgiving dinner, Thanksgiving 2020. During the pandemic, we had a nice dinner meal outside in the covered patio area. You can still see the water and the nice view.
The blackened salmon was good. The shaved steak sandwich was a winner. The Manchurian cauliflower app was also nicely done.
The restaurant has an Indian influence on many of its dishes, as you can see by many of their plates. They use Naan bread.
The setting and the food make this place a solid choice in Bristol.

The setting of this bar is right out the colonial period. Stone and beam construction give this a feel unlike anything we have in the West Coast. Food was pretty good and the beers came cold and reasonably priced. Great place for a quick beer - maybe not the best for a quick bite. Went back several times when the other local bars were full.
