The Body Wisdom Massage Therapy School is founded on the philosophy: Touch is the key to getting back in touch - not only with ourselves, but with all of life! Aware and purposeful touch aids in restoring wholeness. It helps transcend unhealthy up's and down's into consistent inner richness and satisfaction.
Our 900-Hour Massage Certification Program prepares participants to become professional massage therapists and pursue licensure. The program is broken out into Core Curriculum and Career Tracks comprised of courses from our Career Electives menu. Continuing Education & Certificate of Excellence Programs provide required CE's and advanced education for professional massage therapists and other health and wellness professionals.
Our Core Curriculum is designed to give you all the hands-on training for Therapeutic, Swedish and fundamental Deep Tissue Massage, that you would need in any professional setting; plus the sciences and legal, ethical and business training vital for success.
Therapeutic Massage Level 1 presents a powerful and fluid massage sequence that integrates Swedish, Esalen and Deep Tissue techniques with stretching sequences and Polarity Therapy energy work.Comprehensive fundamentals of professional bodywork including evaluation, applied anatomy, proper body mechanics, and focused intention, sensitivity of touch, and communication skills are integrated into each practice session.

Most massage schools around the country and in the Midwest have a "one-size-fits-all" approach to education, which amounts to a very basic curriculum that every student follows to completion. Their idea is, that after you graduate, you get additional specialized training to compete in this profession.

I graduated for Body Wisdom in 2008 and have been practicing massage ever since. I cannot even come close to words as to how I am able to last so long because of the techniques and education I have recieved at Body wisdom. My first position after school was at Massage Envy. I have been with Massage Envy ever since day 1. I get asked daily if my hands hurt after working for so long and my answer is always no because of Body Wisdom giving me such a great education. I do have one recommendation though if you are in massage school. Do a deep tissue class! Even if you are not deep tissue the techniques

My son goes to this school and with him being in classes and learning massage so intricately he has not only the power and knowledge to do an effective massage but the gift and ability to put me to sleep and that is so AWESOME!!! I suffer from 7 forms of Arthritis and have been truly blessed by my son effectively helping to manage my chronic pain thru massage therapy. Also I would like too thank the owner of the school GEE for her SUPPORT of my son when he went through a hard time in his life that was out of his control while he was in school!!! I considered going to massage therapy school for over 20 years. Once I learned about Body Wisdom, I knew it was time for me to go for it. I must say, the entire experience exceeded my expectations. I am so thankful for the knowledgeable and experienced instructors who shared their passion with me, staff members who were accommodating, and fellow students who made the learning process so enjoyable. I highly recommend Body Wisdom to anyone interested in a massage therapy career.

I am convinced that this is THE best school for massage that I could have gone to. The amount of information that they give you is surpassed by none. And the entire staff was so nurturing. Going to Body Wisdom was life changing for me and made me grow so much as a person. I would recommend BW to anyone who wants to be a GREAT massage therapist.

I graduated in 2006, and I have gone back to Body Wisdom for all of my con-ed. The staff is incredible, and I see many of the same teachers I had 10 years ago when I go back, that is a testament in and of itself to how great this school is. They are always coming up with new classes as well, they offer things you can't find at other schools. When I was in massage school I enjoyed every day of it, and when I graduated I passed my boards easily. Don't go anywhere else!!

I love the education and experience that I received at Body Wisdom. By far the best massage program in the state! Anyone looking for a great school that will lead to a great career this is the one. Learning from some of the best teachers in the field was amazing. I would recommend this school to anyone who truly wants care and focus at what they do, good people, students and services.

Im at school since almost a year and it was a live changing year for me. Beside wonderful teachers, great curriculum and interesting classmates I learned a lot of how different people's lives can be. It prepared me well for listening to my future clients and figure out what their underlying problems could be. I'm so looking forward to be done and entering the exciting world af massage! I graduated from this school over 6 years ago. I have been successful as a massage therapist and now own a spa that employs 5 massage therapists. 4 of the 5 therapists at our spa are Body Wisdom graduates. I know that other spa owners also seek out Body Wisdom graduates because they are required to receive far more than the state mandated hours for graduation. Instead of only learning the basics needed to perform a relaxation massage (common for schools, particularly those that focus on other career paths instead of just massage) students are able to take in-depth courses in more skilled modalities
