Services
Acton Veterinary Clinic is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local referral hospitals when special diagnostic procedures are required.
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, Acton Veterinary Clinic stresses the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.
Dr. Perks is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and has enjoyed her role as a general practitioner, serving the needs of her canine & feline patients since 1999. She purchased Acton Veterinary Clinic in 2008 continues to serve Acton and the surrounding communities by offering preventive and wellness care, managing acute and chronic illnesses, dental care, and a wide variety of soft tissue surgeries.
Firstly, our pets can't speak, they cannot tell us if they feel off color or unwell or have any other indicators of internal illness. We need to examine them every year as well as run some routine screening tests to detect underlying disease BEFORE it is clinically apparent. Secondly, pets will actively mask signs of illness until late in the course of disease.
Many people have questions about various aspects of their pet's surgery, and we hope this information will help. It also explains the decisions you will need to make before your pet's upcoming surgery. Today's modern anesthetic monitors have made surgery much safer than in the past.
Here at Acton Veterinary Clinic, we do a thorough physical exam on your pet before administering anesthetics, to ensure that a fever or other illness won't be a problem. We also adjust the amount and type of anesthetic used depending on the health and medical conditions of your pet. Pre-anesthetic blood testing is important in reducing the risk of anesthesia.

My little dog Bentley has been selling Dr. Perks for 11 years. Dr. Perks is very thorough and goes over everything with you, and she takes her time with you. In the 11 years that Bentley has been seeing her I have never had a bad experience with her or anyone that works for her. She is amazing and loving person and a great Veterinary Doctor.
Thank you for everything you do. I wouldn't want Bentley to see anyone else.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤💙💜
With love and many thanks.

Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness, Value
The staff is very knowledgeable and very easy and friendly to work with. I've been bringing my dog here since the beginning of the year and am very pleased. They work with your schedule and there has been a few times I've been a little late and everything is OK. This place is very good on reminders and you can tell they care.

Positive: Reliability
Great place. The people are nice and I know some of the vets personally and they are very nice. I've had many different dogs in my time as well as other pets and this has always been a good veterinary clinic to bring them for checkups and nail clippings. Definitely deserves 5 stars

Whether I walked out of AVC in happiness or in sadness, I've always felt Dr. Perks and her staff did a tremendous job, on both a medical level and an emotional level. Professional, knowledgeable, sympathetic, and supporting...what more can you ask for? They recently helped us get some precious extra time with our ill 13.5-year-old Springer Spaniel, in which we will be forever grateful. My best wishes to Dr. Perks and your staff for the coming year. Thank you.
