Insurance companies heavily influence and dictate the treatment that patients receive at typical Physical Therapy clinics. I refuse to allow that to be the case at Mountain Ridge Physical Therapy. Each of my patients receives one-on-one care that emphasizes manual hands-on therapy and constant assessment.
By choosing Mountain Ridge Physical Therapy you are choosing to emphasize quality in your care. Physical Therapist Derek Clark is a proud graduate of the West Virginia University Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. He loves to surprise patients with positive results that they weren't expecting. Derek has been passionate about the outdoors, endurance sports, and strength training for 25 years.

Things would have been much worse for me had I not found Derek. He helped me avoid surgery and a lot more debilitating problems than I already had, I owe him my life and my ability to walk. Even knowing the difference between walking correctly and incorrectly. Even when I felt I couldn't do something or felt down, he always has a can do attitude that gets you off your butt and makes you walk that extra mile. Don't wait for more pain and disability, make an appointment

3 weeks before I was scheduled to run a marathon, I started having pain in the lower part of my right leg. Derek took a great amount of time evaluating me and making a plan to help me get to the start and finish lines on race day. Through dry needling and release techniques, he was able to reduce my pain level, and I was able to complete the marathon!!

Derek is an incredible PT, and I am super excited that he has opened his own practice! When I was a baby-new-runner at age 40, I managed to hurt myself in nearly every imaginable way before meeting Derek (after a disastrous one-visit fiasco to another super crappy PT -- after which I did my homework and found Derek . . . Even more so than many other professionals, PTs are not all alike, and it really pays to find the right one). Derek not only helped me heal my injuries and safely complete my first half marathon and then my first (and second) full marathon during my first couple years of running
