Columbus Regional Healthcare System was founded in 1935 when local physician Dr. Warren Edwin Miller started a 12-bed hospital in a Victorian home in Whiteville. A year later, the home's porches were enclosed to accommodate more patients. Over the next 70 years, the hospital would be replaced twice.

Today, CRHS boasts an impressive and highly trained medical staff and other healthcare professionals who represent a range of specialties and are dedicated to the well-being of every patient in their care. Licensed for 154 beds, Columbus Regional Healthcare System is a not-for-profit organization accredited by DNV GL Healthcare.

Well we spent Christmas eve in the er. Sister needed echo. They told her it was a holiday and there was no one in call and that it would be Sunday/Monday before she could get echo. I work in Healthcare and we don't have holidays. I didn't know sickness could be scheduled. It has to be scheduled at CRHS

The unprofessionalism of this place is ridiculous, went to the ER with nausea, no appetite, and pain in my appendix, sat in there for 3 hours to be sent home due an "upset stomach". Went home a suffered for 3 more days before i had a terrible attack of pure sweat, and lightheadedness, so came to Loris hospital and within 1 hour and 30 minutes they had me in the back prepping for surgery. Staff was much more friendly as well. Not the first bad experience weve had before. Worst hospital to go to.

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL FOR ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. GO TO NOVANT OR NEW HANOVER!! My mom went into the hospital unresponsive. They had 3 different people jabbing her at the same time ti get an IV in. Literally the needle was down to the kilt and they were spinning it in circles. Everyone was rude and snappy, wouldn't answer her questions at all. Didn't allow her to eat for 4 days even after the surgeon said she could. Her first meal was a greasy cheeseburger and fries for a gallbladder problem. I could keep Nami g horrible mistakes the staff made but I would be here all day. Save yourself and go somewhere

My husband received excellent care while hospitalized for over a week. Every single person who cared for him went above the call of duty and really helped him feel that he was valued as a person, not just another patient in a very busy part of the hospital. Any time I called the nurse's station for an update they took as much time with me as I needed, never acting like they were too busy for us. The attending physician was the same way. He took as much time as I needed and answered all my questions with patience and attentiveness. Just because a hospital is smaller or not in a big town doesn't
