Paradise Animal Clinic
We are dedicated to the health and wellness of your pets and have been serving the Kauai community since 1989. At Paradise Animal Clinic we offer compassionate care and treat your pets like they are our own. Conveniently located in Kalaheo, we specialize in diagnosing and treating domestic pets across the South Shore and West side of Kauai.

Our veterinarians and veterinary staff understand the special role your pet plays in your family. We approach each client with aloha and each pet with compassion. We are committed to partnering with you in your pet's health care. Our enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and experienced staff strive to provide our clients with the highest quality in veterinary care.
Services
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. Surgical Services: Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures.
Firstly, our pets can't speak, they cannot tell us if they feel off colour or unwell or have any other indicators of internal illness. We need to examine them every 6 months as well as run some routine screening tests to detect underlying disease BEFORE it is clinically apparent. Use the age chart below to find your pets age in "people" years and the screening testing recommended for each stage of his or her life.
Many people have questions about various aspects of their pet's surgery, and we hope this information will help. It also explains the decisions you will need to make before your pet's upcoming surgery. Today's modern anesthetic monitors have made surgery much safer than in the past.

Here at Paradise Animal Clinic, we do a thorough physical exam on your pet before administering anesthetics, to ensure that a fever or other illness won't be a problem. We also adjust the amount and type of anesthetic used depending on the health of your pet. The handout on anesthesia explains this in greater detail.
Here are some questions/answers that we are frequently asked. If you have additional questions that aren't covered here, please feel free to give us a call at (808)332-7315. At what age can I have my pet spayed or neutered? Spaying or neutering can be done at approximately 6 months of age. Your pet is given an exam prior to surgery to help determine whether your pet is healthy enough to undergo the surgical procedure.
Paradise Animal Clinic provides you with a full library of pet medical information from the Veterinary Information Network. VIN is the world's first and largest online veterinary community, where new articles are added weekly by the experts at VIN to make sure that our readers have the most current veterinary information available.

Like many others before, no availability until after our pet passed. Wouldn't even assist in helping her pass peacefully to end her suffering.

We had an emergency with our cat, we live in Kapaa and I tried calling the vets on that side first and they simply didn’t care because our cat wasn’t one of their patients. I finally called paradise and called Dr. Nishimoto at 8:52 and within an hour we were at the clinic being helped. The genuine care we received was unmatched and we are so thankful for them. We also had the doctors nurse come in and they were so nice and our little kitty will be staying there for a few days and I cant rave enough about the care we got. They’ll forever have our business from here on out

The staff was so sweet to my Chloe girl (she’s a pit hound ridgeback mix) and she is comfortable with them. They work quickly and do such a go job taking care of her. I brought her there for her spay procedure and she recovered quickly and with barely any problems. Thank you for always taking care of my Chloe ❤️

Tried to make appointment with clinic due to my dogs difficult breathing made me wait over 1 week to see them. Met a great doctor. Unfortunately our baby passed same day of appointment. I can't help but feel that my plea for help went unheard. 1 week for difficult breathing is too long guy.

My puppy had a bad accident at home. We called the Vet office after hours and Dr. Quickly returned my phone call and arranged my appt for the next morning. My pup needed stitches they quicky took care of it and gave me pain meds for the puppy and antibiotics. 2 weeks later we were back to remove his stitches and he has been healing fine. The team was kind and professional. Thank you guys!

Friendly, and most importantly, caring staff. Have taken my animals there for over a decade.
Veterinary care on Kauai is expensive, but they do not order unnecessary test or procedures. They have even discouraged me from having them run Xrays and blood work they felt were unnecessary.
When in need of oral or orthopedic surgery, they actively assisted me in a referral to a specialist.
My Cairn Terrier should have, in all likelihood, been dead 5 years ago due to a enlarged heart with advanced congestive heart failure. Yet under their care that includes medication and diet changes, not only is
