Strackbein Architecture firm principal, Isaac Strackbein, participated in this project in the architecture studio of professor Alan Plattus while a student at Yale School of Architecture. The project was to examine a block in the heart of downtown Shanghai filled with dilapidated traditional Lilong housing.
This project is to construct a resort located in the Fiji Islands. The resort will feature a 300+ room hotel, a spa, three pools, outdoor fire-pits, several bars and restaurants, and a conference hall and associated meeting spaces capable of serving 1,000+ people. The project is scheduled to begin construction in 2021.
This project is located in the city of Saratoga, California. The home owners plan to expand their existing kitchen to make room for an island by relocating their furnace & water heater and taking some space from their dining room. New skylights will help brighten the formerly dark space. The dining room that they seldom use will be repurposed into a study alcove with space for their exercise bike.
The project is to build an approximately 2,800 square foot home above a single-car garage located on a 40-acre plot of land in Sonoma County near Calistoga, California. The project site features sweeping 360 degree views. The design responds to the site with large windows framing specific views and a large roof perched above the main room of the house providing continuous clerestory windows around the periphery.
