Pediatric Dental Specialists
Our goal is to provide your child with the highest quality dental care possible in a nurturing environment. We sincerely believe that we provide a positive dental experience that will help your child achieve optimal dental health for a lifetime. In our office, each child is recognized as a special person with their own needs.

We encourage their active participation in the visit by asking questions about school, hobbies, friends, or anything special they would like to share with us. Before any procedures are started, we show and tell your child what we are going to do. This relaxed approach helps relieve anxiety there may be about the visit.

Pediatric dentistry is the specialty of dentistry that focuses on the oral health and unique needs of young people. Not all children's dentists are specialists. Pediatric dentists are the pediatricians of dentistry. After completing a four-year dental school curriculum, two to three additional years of rigorous training is required to become a pediatric dental specialist.
Following your child's filling appointment if an anesthetic has been used, the lips, tongue and cheek may be numb for several hours after the appointment. Avoid chewing and hot beverages until the numbness has completely worn off. Children can very easily bite their lips or tongue while being numb.
The pediatric dentist has an extra two to three years of specialized training after dental school, and is dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teenage years. The very young, pre-teens, and teenagers all need different approaches in dealing with their behavior, guiding their dental growth and development, and helping them avoid future dental problems.
Dental radiographs or x-rays are an important part of a complete dental exam. A complete set of 18 x-rays for adults and 10 x-rays for children are usually taken at the initial dental exam. Thereafter 6-8 x-rays called checkup x-rays are taken every 6 -12 months depending on the individual needs.

X-rays are essential diagnostic tools for finding hidden interproximal cavities, cysts, tumors, impacted wisdom teeth, determining eruption times of permanent teeth by the extent of root formation and presence of supernumerary teeth (extra teeth).Digital Radiography, offers some positive advantages over typical film X-rays.
All children need to brush their teeth at least two times a day, at night before bedtime, and in the morning after breakfast. By disturbing and removing the plaque formation twice a day, parents can minimize or eliminate their children's potential for decay. For younger children a parent should brush their teeth using a pea-sized amount of toothpaste.

Dr. Ryan and the team and the staff is fantastic. Once we found this place, both our boys went here for all their dental needs until they turned 18. The quality or care and professionalism shown by Dr. Ryan and his staff is impeccable. I have always gotten clear answers to my questions and queries with no unnecessary xrays and tests added. And everyone is so friendly and patient. It amazed me that everytime we went in, Dr. Ryan picked up the conversation from where we left off during the prior visit, both in terms of dental health and life happenings. Our boys could relate to him from pre-teen

So glad my son Dr recommended this pediatric dental office. My 2 year old needed to be put under do to a tooth he chipped the dentist and the anesthesiologist were comforting. They answered every question, sothed every worry and cared for my son as if he was their own. The lady that came in was informing us on the progress and showed just as much care. Not to mention they did all this on friday when they were closed. I highly recommend this place the people alone make the experience amazing everything else is just a bonus. Thank you all for the care ypur providing.

There are two good male dentists at this dental office who are there on different days. The office is decorated in an ocean motif, with televisions in the ceiling for kids to watch while getting their dental work done. The location is convenient, but we got tired of the rude woman in the front office who seems to be there all the time. If she's trying to sabotage this dental practice, it's working.
