I am a highly motivated, non-judgmental clinician who draws from multiple facets of knowledge and personal experiences. I was a collegiate student-athlete, who struggled to find the balance between being "good enough" and striving for excellence. After experiencing a career ending and life altering injury, I spent time traveling to re-discover my true self.
Something keeping you up at night? Feeling overwhelmed? Under valued? Struggling to make a decision? No problem. Together we can re-discover your strength and get you moving in the right direction. At Fairhaven, we think outside of the box and use various treatment strategies to help you obtain your goals.
I respect that people are private- especially when struggling with life's challenges and also recognize the importance of support. I work with individuals to gain a deeper understanding of their thoughts and feelings in order to create the desired change in their lives. I focus on assisting individuals to identify their inner strengths and develop effective coping skills.
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desentization & Reprocessing and is most commonly used to treat PTSD, however, I use EMDR for most issues and have seen great results. It is a treatment that does not rely on talk therapy and allows the individual to connect to themselves on a deeper level. No one knows how EMDR, however, we do know that when an individual is overwhelmed, their brain cannot process information as it does ordinarily.
Brainspotting was developed by Dr. David Grand, in 2003. It started as an offshoot of EMDR and has become a powerful technique for clearing trauma and strengthening internal resources. Brainspotting is described as a "physiological therapy with psychological consequences". We are all wired for survival and when we experience trauma our body and mind go into survival mode.
