Dr. Hassey earned his dental degree (DDS) at NYU School of Dentistry in New York, where he also graduated at the top of his class with honors. He then completed a one year general practice residency in advanced cosmetic dentistry at the University of Nevada's School of Medicine program before deciding to specialize in orthodontics.
Yes, Dr. Hassey has obtained his board certification with the American Board of Orthodontics (the highest distinction achievable in the specialty of orthodontics)! However, what we do best is focus on YOU! Though the experience and credentials are important, what sets us apart is our passion for what we do and our commitment to you.
Our team uses American made brackets, a bracket system that will allow Dr. Hassey to engineer beautiful smiles in the most comfortable way possible. It is a mini twin bracket system that has a lower profile which makes it easier and more comfortable for the patient. We also have a wide variety of fun colors for the bands holding your wire in place to choose from at each visit.
The cost of treatment depends on the complexity of the patient's needs. You will be able to discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. We have several payment plans to better accommodate the needs of our patients including interest free payment plans. Dr. Hassey never wants finances to get in the way of great treatment.

My son was nervous and this place has been amazing while on our journey to correct his teeth. My son feels at ease, calm and excited as the journey moves forward. Dr. Hassey and staff have been one of a kind and I only wish we started sooner! We have a year or so left and am grateful we can call anytime if something is wrong, shifts, hurts, isn’t brushing right, etc. they answer and help with it all! They are professional, empathetic, to the point (nicely) And they even call to check up on him!

I am so thankful that Dr. Cho DDS from the office below the Carlsbad location recommended El Camino Real Orhto to me! The entire staff is extremely friendly and they even have a quiet room for patients with anxiety or those who prefer privacy (which is amazing and incredibly kind). Dr. Hassey and staff are fully there to work with you to find the best treatment options fitted for your individual needs. I have had braces twice in my younger years and I have to say this whole experience is basically the ‘Disney Land’ of Orthodontic offices.

I had nothing but great things to say about this Orthodontist, Dr. Hassey was amazing and did great work he got to know each of his patients and genuinely wanted to see them with a better smile. My only complaint is with money. I was given a quote with insurance taken out and I assumed when I decided to start we would know if the insurance was approved or not but I guess I was wrong. I was paying off an amount I believed to be set in stone when it was not. I asked what my total was one day when it should have been around $400 but it has jumped up to $1300 and when I asked why they said due to insurance

Was referred here by our pediatric dentist for ortho consultation. Had a difficulty finding the sign to this place because they don't have one outside. I google mapped the place before coming in so I know I'm in the right place but the lack of sign outside threw me off. You actually have to go inside the building to see the sign. When I told the front desk about the lack of sign outside, they brushed it off and said they have a sign...INSIDE the building. What an amazing group of people!!! My daughter had a rubberbabd issue as we were on our way to Scotland. Dr Mikes staff went and discussed the solution with him and gave us a couple solutions. He personally came out to explain everything. We just moved to town and look forward to beautiful smiles with our other children.

It's really too bad that the only 1-star reviews here are from people who didn't get a chance to actually experience the exceptional level of professional care we receive from Dr. Hassey and his team. Yes, they are an extremely busy office and we always try to make appointments far in advance because they book up very quickly! We drive here from Escondido which is quite the trek after school during rush hour, but totally worth it for what they've done for my son! I'd recommend them to anyone.

First off let me start by saying, that being a military family and not knowing the area well or knowing someone to recommend a place of business can be a bit nerve-racking.. We lucked out by finding Dr. Hassey and his team when my son was ready for his braces last year, and when I say team I mean exactly that.. They all run that place together like family and are all so nice and professional. My son is still under Dr. Hassey's care, so when my own fixed retainer came loose, I called his office and they got me in and fixed the same day! Just so glad I found them :) Thank you guys, so much!

I left a voicemail asking to be a new patient (guaranteed I'm buying new retainers, easy money for them). It took them an entire week to return my phone call. That's horrible customer service; two business days maximum to answer a message is acceptable.
I'm going to Carlsbad Village Orthodontics instead! They answered my call when I placed it and had appointments available right away. If this place ignores you try them instead.

Coming from someone who has worked for several dentists offices, and is now a patient for orthodontist treatment, I have never seen or experienced such exceptional patient care. They go above and beyond to meet your needs. Dr. Hassey is honest and fair. I believe he's one of the 'good guys' who's not just out to make as much money as he can from each patient. His prices are fair and he will NOT try to up- sell you on products that you do not need. Again, he and his staff are great! I highly recommend Dr. Hassey!!

I waited 4 wks for a 'new patient' appt only to finally show up on the day of my appt to find the office was closed!
I called their other office and spoke to the same employee (Myrna) who scheduled my appt a month before. She told me she forgot to put the appt on the schedule and then told me the next available appt would be over another month away!! Unbelievable! For a new paying customer!?!!
I told her 'no thank you' and would take my business elsewhere.
Apparently their offices must be so busy, they don't mind losing business; customer service is just not important

We are thrilled with the customer service at Dr Hassey's office. My son was super nervous about getting braces and he immediately felt comfortable with Dr Hassey. In fact we were going to "shop" around but didnt even bother after our experience at Dr Hassey's office. The office staff is super friendly and they make the entire experience of getting braces, a fun experience!
