Dr. Brent Hurst works closely with your general dentist and encourages routine dental care as well as good oral hygiene at home.
Services
Your first visit to our office will be a courtesy exam for you or your child. The Dr. Hurst will carefully examine the teeth for a wide range of possible orthodontic problems, such as crowding, cross-bite, gaps, etc. A complimentary panoramic image will be taken to aid Dr. Hurst in making his preliminary diagnosis.
It's more important than ever to brush and floss regularly when you have braces, so the teeth and gums are healthy during orthodontic treatment. Patients who do not keep their teeth clean may require more frequent visits to the dentist for a professional cleaning. Adults who have a history of gum disease should also see a periodontist during orthodontic treatment.
Thanks to today's advances in orthodontic technology, orthodontist Dr. Brent Hurst provides patients with more treatment options than ever before when it comes to wearing braces. While regular metal braces are still widely used, clear braces are very popular, along with removable appliances such as Invisalign.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that most children should have an orthodontic screening by age 7. This allows Dr. Hurst to determine if orthodontic treatment will be required and the best time for the patient to be treated. Many of the dentists in our community have been trained to identify orthodontic problems early, and may refer you to our office earlier than age 7.

Dr Hurst is a great orthodontist and his staff are always very friendly and helpful. My daughter had expanders and now has braces and her teeth already are looking so much better. I can always get an appointment--they are so accommodating w/ my work schedule. I'd happily take my other children here if they need braces and I'd highly recommend Dr. Hurst!

I moved into the area and went and saw Dr. Hurst for my 2 kids. He was fair in price but first and foremost he didn't sell me a bag of goods like some other orthodontists have tried in the past.
He was honest and I appreciated that. I had one ortho try to yank teeth out of an 8 year old and Dr. Hurst was like wait it out while his baby teeth fall out and we will reassess him then.
I knew he was a stand up guy when he sat me down and went over everything and told me don't spend the money when you don't have to do it.

I've been going to Dr.Hurst for 10 years. I've had 3 rounds of braces from him. First two were metal and my current brackets are ceramic. Over the course of 10 years I've had countless jaw issues. I was first introduced to Dr.Hurst and the staff in 2005. I had an underbite that needed serious correcting. Regardless of my jaw structure and problems I've dealt with, they've always been here to help. I'm in my 20's and still feel welcomed as ever. They are great with teeth and really focus on achieving that perfect smile. Mine just happened to take a little longer

Our family was vacationing in Carlsbad when my 14-year old daughter's wire on her braces broke. We called Dr. Hurst Orthodontics and we were able to get in that same day. He and his staff were courteous, helpful, professional and did an excellent job of repairing the wire. My daughter said everyone there was very nice to her. I'm dating myself here, but I was a patient of Dr. Sundquist back when I was a teenager. I received lots of dental work here, including head gear to adjust my jaw and braces. Dr. Hurst took over the practice during that time and I was immediately taken with his enthusiasm and friendliness. He always had a smile on his face and never missed a day of work. He made coming to the office a fun and enjoyable time, which is hard to do when you're a moody teenager having to wear braces. I highly recommend choosing Dr. Hurst as your orthodontist, should you need one.

I was a patient of Dr. Bob Sundquist back in the early 90's before he retired and I made an appointment with Dr. Brent Hurst who took over his practice. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that some of the employees are still there after all these years.
He adjusted my retainers, cleaned them and gave me a new case all at no charge.
I would definitely recommend Dr. Hurst as he was extremely knowledgable and helpful. The office staff is also awesome.
