Aikido ("the way of harmony") is a martial art developed in Japan. The founder of Aikido, Morihei Ueshiba (commonly referred to in the art as O-Sensei, or "great teacher"), mastered martial arts like ju-jitsu as well as sword and spear arts before incorporating what he learned into what eventually became known as Aikido.
The North Florida School of Aikido is a 501c3 organization that is partially supported through tax deductible donations and sponsorships by individual and corporations. Donations and sponsorships help keep the school running and allow us to provide special programs for the community and scholarships for students who may benefit from Aikido training but may not be able to afford monthly dues.

This dojo is fantastic. These instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and patient. I've been training with them for about a month and I'm so infatuated with this style of marital art and these folks are the real deal. Definitely worth checking out if you're in to a beautiful and spiritual self defense system.

I Have trained here at North Florida School of Aikido for several months now, and have trained several other styles for a few years to compare and contrast - the North Florida School of Aikido has 4 different main instructors, and there may be a different main instructor teaching class every time you go, maybe not, but usually a mix of the different instructors teaching the classes - this gives you the student different perspectives and allows to train on a variety of techniques. A very kind, family-type atmosphere, without ego or bravado. Also a great art for women and physically smaller individuals
