After 40 years of providing dental care in the Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo area, Dr. Marvin Ugland decided it was time to retire. He sold his practice to Dr. James Johnson to continue the tradition of high-quality dentistry. Then in January of 2018, Dr. Johnson helped fellow dentist Dr. James Colbert begin his journey to retirement.
We are dedicated to providing excellent dental care and unsurpassed service, so we are particularly proud of the reviews from our patients. The Red River Valley Dental Access Project helps provide immediate relief of pain for low-income dental patients. Dr. Johnson has been volunteering at Red River Valley Dental Access since returning to Fargo. He believes that everyone deserves to be taken care of and this organization makes every effort to ensure this is the case.

If you call over the weekend when we are closed, we will return your call as soon as possible the following Monday when our office opens. Call and we'll schedule you for a first time patient appointment. As a new patient this month, I have had a wonderful experience with Saving Smiles Dentistry! From the accommodating customer service over the phone, to the gentle yet thorough cleaning by hygienist Britney, to the friendly visit with Dr. Johnson, it was all very relaxing— this coming from someone who used to avoid the dentist!

I was so nervous for my appointment at Saving Smiles because it had been a long while since I’d been to the dentist. Thankfully, every step of the way from scheduling to getting some fillings, the providers are Saving Smiles were friendly and accommodating (and with no judgement!). They got me in and out quickly but thoroughly. I’m so grateful to have found a great dentist’s office in Fargo so I can keep up with my preventative care. Thank you Saving Smiles!

Wonderful experience! Everything from the initial call to ask about pricing to the care provided to my children and I. They went through everything with my kids calmly, simply, and made them all feel so comfortable. Staff were personable and so kind and sent me off with a thoughtful goodie bag. And my teeth have never felt so clean! Highly recommend!

I have always had the best experiences at Saving Smiles! I feel like no one ever "loves" going to the dentist, but they make it so easy to remain comfortable with whatever procedure you're having done, engage in friendly conversations, and leave with a smile. Being new to the Fargo area, I was in need of reasonably priced, quality dental services. After reading through various reviews, I decided to go with Saving Smiles and I must say their reviews are accurate. I was very pleased with the quality and variety of services, they offer.
