Judo teaches us to look for the best possible course of action, whatever the individual circumstances, and helps us to understand that worry is a waste of energy. A modern martial art and Olympic sport, the Kodokan was the name of the original school of Judo, officially created in 1882 by Jigoro Kano after studying under masters of several different styles of Japanese Jujutsu.
Each year the Sioux Falls Open Martial arts tournament is held inviting all schools of any martial arts style to participate in a gamut of events: Submission grappling, Empty hand forms, Weapon forms, Point fighting and Sport Ju-jitsu continuous fighting divisions to crown the best overall martial artists and schools.

The quality of the programming, the teaching, and the Sensais make this hands down one of the best dojos in the region. My kids are not only better in the arts of self defense, judo, and jujitsu but they are also becoming better humans by the lessons they are learning. If your looking for a place for you or your children to do martial arts do yourself a favor and at least try Dakota Budokan.
