Virtuoso Hardwoods was founded in 2001 with a core focus on serving the needs of those in Indianapolis and Indiana who love and care about wood floors. We have done it all in wood flooring-from installing basic prefinished to creating intricate medallions from scratch to repairing and refinishing historically significant wood flooring in buildings designated as National Historic Landmarks and on the National Register of Historic Places.

We have done wood floors in new construction and renovated old flooring from the 1850's. Our pedigree is second to none as is our dedication to the art and science of wood flooring. Gabe: I have been working with people to help them have great wood floors since we began in 2001. I enjoy meeting people and assessing job sites as well as working to complete wood flooring projects on time.
Services
Is there a material more suitable for flooring than wood? It is not the hardest or most durable product, but it has the distinct advantage of being able to be repaired and resurfaced many times, like a slate that can be wiped clean from years of abuse or neglect. The once living wood is still alive because it can be rejuvenated by the careful attention of the wood floor craftsman and happily appreciated by the owner.
Another benefit of wood flooring over some other types of floor coverings is that it can be repaired easily in most cases. Whether it's to repair termite damage, or replace some urine stained boards, we simply remove the offending floor boards and replace with new (or old if patina is a concern). After sanding it's as though the damage never existed.
One of the best qualities of hardwood flooring is the ability to counteract wear and restore sheen with a maintenance coat. After a quick vacuuming, we apply a chemical bonding agent to soften the surface of the existing finish. We then lightly abrade or "screen" the floor to promote a good mechanical bond.
Virtuoso inspected our historic farmhouse floor and immediately knew the species of wood and how to proceed with our project. We had to have several sections of non-standard boards replaced in our floor. They were able to quickly source the reclaimed material that would match, and skillfully wove it into the existing floor.
The day has finally come, it's time to apply the Rubio Monocoat. This stuff is similar to staining but a little more difficult. You have to apply it in smaller sections, wait for it to react with the wood for 3-5 minutes, buff it with a red pad to knock the grain down from the water popping, then buff over it with the white pad, and finally a couple times with terry cloth towels-- all within 15 minutes.

We used Virtuoso Hardwoods 14 years ago to replace our terribly squeaky hardwood floors in the living room, dining room, hallways and closets with red oak flooring. We were impressed with them back then, and were so pleased. Our floors still look beautiful. This time we needed to replace the squeaky floor in a bedroom, and wanted them to come do the work again. They did, and we are still extremely happy with their work. The floors look almost identical, and are beautiful.
Gabe and Everett are hard workers, friendly, courteous, and conscientious. They clean up after themselves. They are very thorough

They installed about 2,000 square feet of new white oak flooring in the home we just bought, incorporating it with areas of existing oak flooring that they refinished. Their work thrilled us!
These guys are superb craftsman. Gabe and his brother do all of the work. They have a lot of experience, and if you hire them you're not going to get rookies learning on your house. Even our cabinet guy commented on the exceptional quality of the flooring.
They were inexpensive, and the upgrades they offered, such as wood and brass electrical boxes inset into the floors, were great additions and very reasonable
