Services
Sierra Orthopaedic Physical Therapy clinicians treat with an emphasis on manual therapy and patient education. We believe true orthopaedic physical therapy is the combination of manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and education. Manual therapy consists of skilled hands-on mobilization of problematic soft tissue and joints.
Orthopaedic Physical Therapy (also spelled Orthopedic or called Sports Medicine Physical Therapy) is rehabilitation centered around the neuromusculoskeletal system. This specialty explores the relationships amongst the muscles, bones, nerves, ligaments, tendons, joints and other types of connective tissue.
Pelvic Physical Therapy (also known as Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy, Pelvic Health Physical Therapy) is performed by a specifically trained, licensed Physical Therapist. It focuses on the pelvic floor and the surrounding areas such as the abdomen, hips, and low back as they relate to the floor.
The pelvic floor consists of 3 layers of skeletal muscle that supports internal organs, provides urinary and fecal continence, aides in sexual function, and is included in the "core" postural muscle group. The pelvic floor's bowl shaped structure is attached from the pubic bones to the coccyx (tailbone) and on the sides of the bottom of the pelvis as well.

The short answer is no, you don't need a referral since Nevada is a direct access state. However some insurance plans require Prior Authorization before starting treatment to receive reimbursement. Call your insurance and check if a physician referral is required for your specific plan. The initial evaluation will be conducted by your Doctor of Physical Therapy and will cover your current condition(s) and any relevant previous history.

If you haven't ever heard of pelvic PT, and are looking for places to go after getting referred, definitely come see Kiley or Megan! Reno has a very small group of true specialists in this field, and I feel beyond lucky to have gotten in at Sierra Ortho.
I have seen Kiley on two separate treatment plans, given to me by two separate doctors. It was incredible to see how she is so flexible in curating care to your specific needs, especially after being sent in with two very different problems. It is incredible to find a PT who treats YOU for YOUR problems, and does not give the textbook care for

Have you ever dealt with chronic pain for so long, while trying every possible solution out there, that you just assumed you were destined to a life of misery? True story: I was so desperate for relief that I begged the Universe to lead me to the solution...I googled “Reno physical therapy”, and can’t really say what lead me here, but there was a vibe. (Plus, I always want badass female doctors when pursuing my healing path.)
I can honestly tell you that Dr. Kiley is truly an expert in her field. I would have never believed my deep hip pain of FIFTEEN YEARS needed internal pelvic

I was seen at Sierra Orthopedic Physical Therapy by Dr. Kiley Lester for pelvic physical therapy while I was pregnant with my second child. Hands down the best health decision I have EVER made for myself. My first child was delivered by a forceps assisted delivery. During this delivery my tailbone was injured and 2.5 years later (when I became pregnant with my second) was still causing me pain. I saw Dr. Lester for the majority of my second pregnancy to help with my tailbone pain and to prepare myself for delivering my second child. I was so afraid of further injuring my tailbone or having another

I wish I could give more stars to express how incredible Sierra Orthopaedic Physical Therapy is! Kiley and Kevin are welcoming and knowledgeable in many avenues of physical therapy. It's obvious how passionate they both are to help others. I saw Kiley throughout my pregnancy and postpartum for pelvic floor therapy. The pelvic PT I received positively impacted my physical and mental preparedness of birth and my path to recovering postpartum. Kiley is very compassionate and will make you feel at ease when discussing pelvic PT.

I've seen Kiley on and off for about 2 years for pelvic floor dysfunction. SHE IS A MIRACLE!!!!! I've suffered for years and seen more doctors and pain management specialists than I can count and one day I was referred to her. I haven't been to a new doctor since I started seeing her. She made my life livable again! I will never go anywhere else for any of my PT needs!

Both Kevin and Kiley are great! Both my wife and I have seen them over the past few years. The arthritis in my wrist was getting so bad that my right hand was becoming barely functional. Kevin started working on it and has restored the function it used to have. I cannot express how much that has changed my life. Many thanks, Kevin!!!!!!!!!!!!!
