This could go either way. Sometimes its good, Clean Thai Food. Other times its cheap & weird.
They are likely to be in denial if you have legitimate issues with your order,
and argue with you.
A little extra attention to service
& details like online hours postings, menu item descriptions. etc andโฆ more people might be attracted here. Also some better quality raw ingredients like fresh tomatoes vs hard unripe salad ingredients that actually taste like the refrigerator.
We had one waitress dump curry on one of our lapsโฆ waitresses were a little uninformed but otherwise nice enough.. they

I love Sweet Basil and was so delighted to find so many gluten free options available. We let the kitchen know as one tends to do if you are gluten intolerant. The waitress was knowledgeable and not afraid to ask questions on our behalf to make certain dinner would be celiac friendly. The smile on my boyfriend's face when he was once again able to eat flavourful, authentic Thai, was priceless.

Not much authentic Thai food ANYWHERE around here. Most of the other restaurants offer are rebranded Chinese or Japanese dishes designed to attract people looking for something different. Sweet Basil is the real thing. Customers will instantly see the difference in the authenticate ingredients and the fantastic native chef. A rare find in an area where few choices really stand out in general. You have to travel a lot of miles to even come close to this quality.

Overview: neat little restaurant tucked behind a road. Great service. Okay food but not very authentic tasting. Keep in mind I stopped here on vacation and I live in NYC so I have high standards for Thai! Cute restaurant. Staff was pretty young but she was so quick and helpful. 5/5 for service!
Food:
Wings - tasty. Sweet sauced. Pretty small but seems organic so not mad at that.
Spring rolls - not the best but was hungry so I took it.
Tom Yum - not super spicy (probably the area influenced this?) still tasty just not authentic.
Pad see ew - sauce was different from what I usually eat. However

Delicious food and excellent service. We had a vegetable green curry and red curry โ just ask and they will make it completely vegan. We have eaten a lot of Thai food in NYC and elsewhere, and this ranks as one of the best. We sat outside which is great during Covid times. Also serve great craft beers. The wait staff were kind and knowledgeable and efficient. Definitely would come back again.

From someone who loves Thai food, Sweet Basil by far the best I have ever had in my life, no joke. And they're in Liberty??? Soooo random, and not expected, but nevertheless, remarkable. After our meal, I took time to speak to the sweet little woman who cooks all of the food. She is authentically from Thailand! She makes all dishes and sauces from scratch. Just a simple dish like the Pad Thai is so so delicious. Worth every single penny if you ask me, even if these other reviewers say the positions are small. I think they're more than fair! Common, Liberty, get a grip! We're lucky

My family and I have been ordering from here for quite some time. We always loved the food and service, we still do enjoy the food but today we ordered two pad Thais and order of spring rolls. To my surprise we were charged 35 bucks for 3 spring rolls and 2 small servings of the pad Thais. I mean I get places are struggling and you need to find ways to make up the losses but the two main reasons we always came here was 1- prices were always fair and 2- you always got plenty for what you paid for. And to top it we were charged 5 extra dollars for us to pick it up and was even asked to tip on

Well, I returned to Sweet Basil. After all, it is the only Thai Restaurant in the area. The owner and chef really is sweet. The food was ok. Again, however, I take issue with the service and filling my order. I was on a short lunch break, so I called ahead to have the food ready to eat in the restaurant when I arrived. I asked for Chicken Pad See Ew and wanted it without broccoli and with bell peppers and bamboo shoots instead. I often get this dish exactly like this in many Thai Restaurants. Well, the dish arrived without the bell peppers or bamboo shoots. I also had a hard time finding

This was my first time back at Sweet Basil since they first opened years ago and it did not disappoint! To start my meal, I had an order of spring rolls; for my main, Massaman Curry; for dessert, coconut ice cream. Everything was fresh and delicious, especially the homemade ice cream. The owner/chef was very sweet and informative about the food and made our experience more pleasant. Highly recommended, will be back!

Owner cooks w/ little veggie oil, could be why I ate lots not feeling uncomfortable. She roasts chili pepper. Had delicious pumpkin dessert w/coconut ice cream..YUM! I've never had Thai food before but heard really good things about this place. The place is charming with lots of colorful adornments. I prefer a smaller menu because I equate it with fresh ingredients as opposed to frozen or canned. The waiter was friendly and offered me a sample of the Thai tea before I bought it, which was very nice. I got a stir-fry with pineapple and my Daughter got a pad Thai. My dish was light and fresh I opted for brown rice that was the perfect combination of sticky but not mushy. The pad Thai, however, was absolutely amazing! I ate half of my Daughter's dish. I'm so glad

Coming from NYC, I was surprised to find such tasty Thai food. When our waiter said it's gonna be spicy, I thought it was like mild, but boy was it spicy and I loved it!
Everyone's orders were pretty good. I liked my pad Thai, I couldn't finish it so packed it to go for a midnight snack, per usual.
Our server was the kindest, friendliest guy. He was actually quite funny too and even let us know which items have pork in them without us asking (the Muslim in us is pretty obvious)
It's a cool place, and probably the best place to eat within a 20 mile radius.
Btw, the mango
