Focused on authentic French cuisine, Restaurant Rochambeau features a formal dining room with a working fireplace, outdoor dining on the terrace, a separate bar, and space for private events. We also provide catering services. Rochambeau partners with local/regional farmers and fishermen, shaping its seasonally-driven menu around the finest natural/organic ingredients.
Also, we are currently preparing our own herb and vegetable garden in the courtyard. The restaurant is named in honor of Jean Baptiste Donatien de Vimeur, Comte de Rochambeau, who was appointed by Louis XVI as leader of the 5,500-person French military force sent to help the American Continentals win independence from British rule.

Rochambeau - A true small-town gem! Our server was fantastically personable and such a gracious host. The chef was kind enough to create a vegan dish “on the fly” due to three people in our party having certain restrictions. The food was superb and the ambience was very intimate. My family will absolutely be visiting again soon!

Went here for the first time for their Valentine's dinner. Very nice, intimate setting, good for parties <6. Very good service. Authentic French cuisine. Extensive wine list and some of the best cocktails in the area. Truly a treasure in the small town it resides. Be prepared for the higher prices per plate, however.

Excellent restaurant, tasty food excellent service, they were very attentive and very professional, courteous, pleasant atmosphere.
They were so very attentive that I've run out of words to describe their attentiveness, nice place to go out on a date or even a business meeting if you're looking for a really nice place to have a meeting or that date with that special someone.

This was one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. I had French onion soup for a starter the best if I have ever had.
My main course was scallops with risotto, and Brussels sprouts. The scallops were prepared perfectly.
Our meal was finished off with Napoleon dessert that was simply delicious.
The service was superb. There is nothing I would have changed about my dining experience.

We went to Gordonsville on a Sunday and not many things were open. We were delighted to see that this little French restaurant was though, and our experience was fantastic from beginning to end. We were there for brunch and it was out of this world and we hope to come back for the dinner menu. The lobster bisque and French onion soups were both the best we've had. I had an amazing eggs benedict and my husband had a terrific quiche, which is saying a lot since he rarely likes eggs. the service was outstanding. Drive here for this- it will not disappoint!

I have had this place on my “restaurant bucket list” for over a year, and was so excited to make this visit happen. We traveled a couple hours along the Shenandoah National Park to get here, and showed up around 6pm for dinner. My wife and I have had a few years of French, so it was fun reviewing the menu which was mostly written in French (with English descriptions). My wife and I choose two different daily specials and my daughter ordered off the menu. Most menu options run $25-40, with a few cheaper salad options.

We had the pleasure of dining at Restaurant Rochambeau tonight. We have eaten here multiple times but when it was Pomme. I was cautiously optimistic when we arrived. I was unprepared for the amazing evening we had. The service was fabulous but the food was incredible. Chef prepared the filet, the lamb and the bouillabaisse for our table. Each dish was better than the next. My bouillabaisse was sublime. After dinner we enjoyed the creme brulee and then Chef brought out a delightful chocolate mousse with star anise. I normally don’t eat dessert but this was amazing. Kaylee and Colleen took amazing
