South Schuyler Counseling was founded in 2019 by Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, William Lacy in his hometown of Kankakee Illinois. The center is located in Downtown Kankakee and serves clients in Kankakee, Will, and Iroquois counties, as well as, nationally via telehealth services. William Lacy has been counseling individuals, couples, and families since 2010.

Talking with William over the last 4 years has truly been a blessing from the creator. Everyone says he really cares because it's the truth! He's the best because he listens and often lets me come to my own conclusions while still helping me process. The wisdom from the sessions is the kind that I reflect on days later and find even more truth to it.

My fiance and I worked with William Lacy for pre marital counseling and he’s been absolutely amazing. He’s completely changed, for the better, the way my partner and I communicate and understand each other and ourselves. He’s very friendly, experienced, professional and truly passionate about the work he does! Best decision we could have made. Would highly recommend if you’re seeking a counselor!

He has a kind and gentle demeanor that puts you at ease and he continues to educate himself to give you even better services. He works holidays at little to no cost to help those most in need. Mr.Lacey is an amazing therapist. Our family have been clients of his for several months now and already see drastic improvements within my partnership and family setting. His atmosphere is very homey. It didn’t take long at all to feel absolutely comfortable with him. I recommend his work to anyone reading this. Wherever you may find yourself in life happy or not, it takes a phone call away to make a great life even better. His wait list may be long but I can promise it’s worth it! He’s the best of the best!

William Lacy is truly an asset and a blessing to this community that he was born & raised in. His atmosphere is very comfortable, homelike. You'll look forward to meeting with him because he will make you feel like you're not talking to a therapist, just catching up and venting to an old friend. He also gives back to the community in so many ways! I've also seen him offer $5 sessions at the most stressful and/or difficult times of the year ( holidays, Mother's/Father's Days, etc.) so there's no reason not to give him a call!

I had the pleasure of watching William work in a social services profession before he moved to his practice. He always went above and beyond for his clients. The staff at South Schuyler are warm and welcoming. William is the epitome of professional. He truly cares about his clients and making sure they have accessibility to the help they need. His practice is very homelike. He really takes the time to get to know his clients to give them the best guidance and advice.
