We build a lot of flagstone patios: last year (2017) we built more of them than any previous year in the business, I believe. Flagstone patios seem to be gaining in popularity, at least among my clients anyway.

The stone pictured here is a variety of sizes, colors, textures and shapes. This is all natural stone, and natural stone retaining walls are one of a few things we specialize in. From the linear and rectangular blocks of principally one form of limestone or another, to the use of larger blocks of limestone in a "random ashlar" fashion.
Outdoor Concepts builds a wide variety of walks, paths and patios, using a wide variety of material. The walks, paths and patios pictured here vary, from natural stone (flagstone), to bricks and pavers, to sometimes the creative use of a number of gravels.
Some of our favorite flagstone to work with, in the creation of walks or patios, is flagstone that is available in very large sheets; when properly installed, it can create a very dramatic effect.This effect is far superior to a patio or walk built using a much larger number of smaller pieces of flagstone.

Has the popularity of the pond/stream/waterfall run its course? I used to build and install several of these a year, but in recent years interest has dropped off. Not quite sure why, maybe it's mostly related to the fact that they're completely in the category of want, versus need, and most people are staying closer to the need end of the spectrum these days.

I left a message for this company to see about doing some hardscaping and landscaping, but I didn’t receive a call for a week and then either the owner or some other employee call last me but doesn’t recall the message I left. I explained the hardscaping and retaining wall that I need repaired, but he said it isn’t in his wheelhouse. What’s crazy is that his website talks all about natural stone steps and retaining walls. I would look elsewhere for your hardscaping and landscaping needs.

Outdoor Concepts uses creative problem solving! I was almost certain that my tiny root filled back yard was without hope. Using my vision, Joe was able to raise a patio up 6" to avoid digging, and with a stunning stone and a creative shape, I was able to bring Tuscany to my backyard. Everyone compliments its beauty. Now for the front yard.......

I have had several occasions to utilize the services of Joe Ebertz and Outdoor Concepts. Last spring marked our third project with their company, and once again we were thrilled with the design, the budget, and the outcome. They have created artful boulder retaining walls, a wonderful pond with a water feature, and now, our wonderful flagstone patio. We have spent many hours relaxing on that patio, listening to the gurgle of water flowing, and croaking frogs. Joe made a promise, and was good to his word, a rare quality these days.
