We provide support to martial arts academies who wish to follow our proven instructional model. We provide support in rank and certification in the art of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. Judo and Jiujitsu are sister arts. While Judo concentrates mainly on the throwing aspect of close quarter battle and jiujitsu focuses mainly on the ground-fighting aspect of close quarter engagement, we blend them both nicely in out teen and adult classes. The throws & takedowns we teach are based on leverage not power.
We are proud of the group of women who train within our academies. Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is an art based on leverage and not strength and women create leverage better and faster than men! Women are generally smaller in stature, but mightier in technique! Our Tuff Chicks train in our coed classes and get together every month to work as a team.

I had to travel to Columbus for work, and was recommended to check out Team Chitwood... What a GREAT recommendation. Shawn and Craig did an amazing job at making me feel welcome and part of their team. The facility was great, area was spotless, people were friendly, and the instructions were phenomenal. I'll definitely stop by the next time i'm in the area, and would encourage anyone else to do the same.

My son started with Team Chitwood in July 2012. The Chitwood brothers resumes are very impressive but more importantly their interaction with their students and their teaching methods are outstanding.
My son had started taking a martial arts class at another facility a couple of years earlier and was bored with it. He spent a lot of time just imitating the moves of his instructors and had virtually no practical application of the skills he was learning. At Team Chitwood each class involves a step by step demonstration of defensive and offensive moves immediately followed by one on one practice
