Scammy, sketchy, disrespectful towards women.
They busted my clutch during a test drive, rendered my car undrivable, refused to make it right - I even offered to meet them in the middle on it, and they talked down to and patronized me because I was upset about it. The owner kept calling me "lady" on the phone (listen, lady; look lady) and I asked him to stop, he badgered me with, "Well you're a lady aren't you!?". His son had the nerve to tell me "Had I been nicer to him, he might have helped me".
I was upset, and held my position that they are responsible

Recently had to get my battery replaced after my car wouldn't start on campus. Most places were booked or saying it would take until the next day to get my car in for that short repair, but Swett's was super understanding and was able squeeze me in for 15 minutes that afternoon to replace my battery. They were great about calling and updating me as well!
The price was reasonable (I'm a broke college student so that was super important), and everyone there was super kind. Would definitely go back for any future car repairs I need!

The service here always meets my expectations and is not too expensive. The nice part, too, is that they don't try to over-sell you things that you don't need right then (as many other places do), but rather suggests when you might need them in the future. Full service, which is convenient. If you go to UMaine or live in Orono, it's hard to beat the location, too.
If you drop your car off in the afternoon, I suggest checking out Marsh Island brewing while you wait, next door.

If you are looking for trustworthy, then turn away from this buisness. In February, car was having trouble. Normally I would go to my main servicer, but they were out of town. I needed something done immediately and I chose Swett's. My car was off in performance and made weird rattling sounds as I drove. The engine light was on when I brought it in.
They contacted me in a timely fashion about what was wrong and gave me a quote. They informed me that my water pump was spent (which it was) and asked for the go ahead to fix it. I said yes and went to get my car the next day. They revealed that

I wanted to write a post to let anyone who considers using Swett's Tire and Auto Inc know that it is a bad idea! I took my car in today to get inspected and they failed it for five things. I was skeptical and worried they were trying to rip me off so I took it to Jackson's auto in old town. I was right. Only one thing on the list needed to be fixed and they fixed it at a price much lower. If I had gotten a sticker at Swett's it would have cost me at least $800, it cost me $183 at Jackson's. So please, don't take your car to Swett's and if you do, don't let them
