Services
Dr. Cox purchased Floerke Veterinary Clinic in 2017 and transitioned the practice to become Cross Point Veterinary Clinic shortly thereafter. Floerke Vet Clinic was established in 1983 as a one doctor, one exam room practice. Today, CPVC exists in the same location as Floerke Vet Clinic but with 2 doctors, 5 exam rooms, a surgery room, pharmacy, and lobby area.
Dr. Steven Cox was born and raised in Marshall, Texas. His childhood pastime was hunting, fishing, and playing baseball. Dr. Cox earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Ecology and Management from Texas A&M University in 2006. Since 2005, Dr. Cox has worked in the field of Veterinary Medicine as a technician of both small and large animals as well as serving in other capacities such as whitetail deer management.
Do you have a smiling face and a servant's heart?! Do you like to work with Veterinarians who value your feedback and appreciate your role as a team player? We'd love to talk with you! I had an emergency with a very Ill cat. She was treated and had to stay at the clinic overnight. The doctor called me and explained everything to me which really eased my mind. They also worked me in first thing on Monday after a small setback over the weekend. Once again, the doctor patiently explained to me how to care for the cat (I’m really a dog person 😂)! I have had a good experience and was very glad that they were there when I needed them!

We take all our pets to Cross Point Veterinary. They are the best at taking care of our animals! Always upfront, honest, and really care about their patients. Our dog recently passed away from tumors, and Cross Point took the time to send us a sympathy card that every staff member signed. The fact that they took the time to do that shows a lot about who they are and how they run their business. If you're looking for a vet who truly cares, go to Cross Point!

This vet is all about the money. We had used thus vet for years for shots etc. We took on a stray cat that kept scratching his ears. 100 some dollars plus bill and his ears got worse. Took him back a second time spent more money for something they didn't do right the first time. I shouldn't had to pay a second time. Cat went back a third time vet said they would keep him. They were told the wife I didn't want to spend another 200 dollars for something they couldn't get right. Lord and be hold a $258 dollar bill or we could surrender the cat. Incompetent vets that do nothing but money gouge and

I took my pets for their annual vaccinations. When I got there I parked in a designated spot. I then texted my information to the clinic and within several minutes the staff came to my vehicle and got my pets. Within 20 minutes they were done and brought my pets back to my vehicle. I paid the bill, got a receipt and was done. It was a breeze. The staff is very polite and friendly. Service was great!

Just made a quick stop to pick up flea and tick medicine with a friend of mine for his dogs. People are not allowed inside they will actually come out to your car get your dog and bring your dog in or come out to your car and drop off your medicine for dogs. Can't really give too much details on the place because it is under New Management. I gave it a four-star rating just because I feel you lose a certain amount of personal experience when it's more like a drive-thru.

I took rescued cat in for neutering.. Never saw or spoke to vet. Thought we were required to stay in car. Tech gave lab results over the phone & recommended immediate euthanasia. My cat was eating well, gaining weight & coat was improving.
No signs of illness. After strong recommendation to euthanize, we agreed. Wish we had not because the quality of his life was good & death was not warranted.

They took excellent care of our baby Bella. She left us and right into the young ladies arms. This don’t happen she’s afraid of everyone. Which tells me they are decent people as Bella had good vibes from her.

We have been taking our two dogs to Cross Point veterinary, since
before
Dr Florke retired. Within the past couple of months, we called for an appt. for our labordoodle on a Fri morning. Wanted to get her in that
afternoon The lady said it would be a $25 extra walkin fee. My husband
told her to forget it, then hung up. A little later, she called back and
said she set up the appt. for a regular office visit fee. Our
12 yr old mini Schuanzer, has been sick over the weekend. We called this morning for an appt and was told that there was a $25 fee, over the reg. office visit, for walkins.

Dr. Scott believes my 18 lb. dog got bit by a scorpion in my backyard in the middle of the night.
The staff and techs were so quick to squeeze me in on a very busy surgery day for the doctor. Murphy looked like Will Smith with an allergic reaction in the movie "Hitch". They were open at 7:30 , the earliest of anybody around. I'm grateful my dog was back to normal in about 12 hours. Im new to the area and I am so thankful to find an outstanding Vet!

I honestly can not say enough positive things about Cross Point Veterinary Clinic in Taft, TX. I'm pretty new to the area, and live in a tiny town about 20+/- away. I noticed my big yellow lab wasn't acting like herself, and I knew I had to get to someone quickly. I called a Veterinarian in another, bigger city, and was told that they only took cash or checks. I needed my girl seen immediately, was willing to spend whatever it took, and needed to be able to use a card. I was able to stumble on to some unbelievably compassionate and kind people. I made our appointment online and was given

Great hidden jewel! I was tired of the Portland Vets high prices, forcing to purchase meds from clinics vs online (heart-worm meds online) etc. Found this place and they're super friendly, knowledgeable and great vets!

5 stars is not enough for how great of a place Floerke Veterinary Clinic is. Dr. Cox is amazing and so is Ashley, the vet technician. I brought my beagle in because she wasn't feeling well and it turns out that she ate a part of her collar. Dr. Cox performed surgery the same day to remove the collar and they kept her for 4 days while she healed. Unfortunately every complication that can pretty much occur happened to our sweet girl and she just got done with her 3rd surgery in 2 weeks. Since she had surgery on a Friday, Dr. Cox took her home with him for the weekend so he can monitor her. We

I was referred here by a friend and had a great experience. I got lost and had to call, but they were really nice on the phone giving directions. Then, even arriving almost 20 minutes late for my appointment they were not only friendly and understanding, but I had less than a 5 minute wait. The vet and tech were capable and very sweet to my kitten, but the best part was that I left feeling like I hadn't just been raked across the coals. Having seen so many vets insist on and recommend unnecessary expensive things, I was very pleasantly surprised that not only were the prices reasonable to
