Between 1812 and 1841, Fort Ross (just 24 miles away) became the southernmost Russian settlement on the American continent. The settlement was established to provide agricultural produce for other Russian settlements in Alaska and became the first shipbuilding site in California. Trappers based at Fort Ross made their way inland along the Russian River, hence its name.

Definitely showing it's age. Our two room cottage was oddly remodeled. The bathroom vanity was in the living room. No A/C.

We just completed a two night stay at your property and I would have to say we were extremely disappointed with the experience. We had a number of issues with the room and service. Here they are listed below:

1. No towel bars or hooks to hang wet towels.

2. No shelf in the shower to put soap and shampoo on. Had to use the floor.

3. Second shower head has no handle.

4. Furniture still has labels on them.

5. WiFi is basically useless. It didn't really work all weekend, and there's very little phone signal here. I complained about it once, the desk attendant said he'd

I had a terrible customer service experience here. I didn't actually stay here, as I had to cancel my reservation. I didn't expect a refund. However, I wanted to rebook for another date. The inn kept booking my reservation for random dates and then I would receive a text out of nowhere with check in directions. Every time I called they didn't have time to talk to me and asked to get back to me. I haven't received any replies to my emails. There were additional erroneous charges on my card from this place over a month after my initial payment and reservation. Beware of this place

The room and property were nice. We booked a room at almost 500 a night and the web site said we would have a plunge pool on our balcony, it did not. Also, the dual shower was missing the lever for the second shower. I told this to the person working the desk, they said their web site is under maintanence and someone would call me. Didn't happen.

My husband and I went here a couple weeks ago. I keep thinking about how great our little vacation was. So I decided to write a review (which I never do), because everyone was so great. Our room (newly remodeled), was ADORABLE, and quite spacious. It was wheelchair accessible, which was great because we were easily able to keep our electric bikes in the room (and still had plenty of room to walk around). It had a kitchenette, which was probably the cutest one I've ever seen in any hotel room. Loved the new red retro refrigerator! Nice touch!

Now let's talk about that gorgeous spa!

Do not go to this spa. I have been trying to schedule facials with them for literally months. I have sent emails, left voicemails, talked to multiple people. It took months to finally schedule. Now a week before they completely changed all the details of the appointments and didn't even tell me. Worst customer service ever.

We had a really challenging and unsatisfactory stay at West Sonoma Inn & Spa. Our room had food crumbs in it, our ceiling fan didn’t work, the A/C unit didn’t work. We reported all of this on the first day of our stay and were told that the repair man had left for the day and would come out tomorrow. On Saturday, the repair man came out and “fixed” the A/C, but when we returned from the river later that evening, it was only blowing air, not cold air, and the fan was still not working. Furthermore, the A/C unit stopped blowing air altogether around 1am, which led to a very warm and uncomfortable

West Sonoma Inn is going downhill. Over the past 6 years we've stayed here many times when we vacation at Guerneville. The property has so much potential but not much is done in terms of maintenance and upkeep. During our recent stay we booked a vineyard suite. The walkway leading to the rickety stairs to our unit was falling apart. They solve this by covering a large portion of it with a rectangular piece of wood that someone could easily trip over. Our bathroom blinds were dirty and ripped, clearly management doesn't care to replace simple items in need of repair. The toilet was not

This was the best vacation I've had in a long time! Because of an unfortunate flood, about half the rooms are brand new, so everything was sparkling clean and new! The Inn is walking distance to down town shopping, restaurants, and the river. After an epic day of kayaking we treated ourselves to amazing massages, a perfect way to end a prefect visit. Cell phone service is not available if you have AT&T (in Guerneville in general, not just the Inn), making this the perfect getaway, but wifi is available. I highly recommend the West Sonoma Inn & Spa, we will definitely be back!!

Only reason I give it two stars is because of the location. Great location walking distance to the Main St with all the shops & restaurants. I stayed in what's categorized as a "Vineyard Cottage Spa Suite". Looking at the pictures on their website it looked beautiful with great view of a vineyard. Walking in was another story. It was "decent" at best but looking closer there were wires hanging down from the ceiling, windows that could open but barely and easily came off track, mold in the shower and a semi-obscured view of a vineyard. Take a look at what the Suite goes for and it is SO SO overpriced

I'm at that age where I just can't ignore red flags anymore. I wanted a nice getaway for my birthday, so booked a two night stay for the priciest room they had. First off, when you book the room, there's an option where you can ask questions. After 3 days and a pending charge on my card, they never responded to my question. I emailed them direct - still no answer. I call and get an older Indian man who had a bad attitude from the start. Terrible Customer Service

We had a lovely weekend stay until our last morning. When we woke up, we noticed there was no hot water. We called the front desk and they were already aware and said the issue would be fixed within 20 minutes. The issue was not fixed and 1 hour later we were told it would be another 20 minutes. This went on a few times, and it had been several hours with no hot water. We were told if we checked out then and did not wait for the repairs to be complete, we would receive a 15% discount, which is what we did.

Later that week, I noticed the 15% discount was not deducted

We reserved a room fora two-night stay on booking.com and received a confirmation. When we got to the hotel, they did not honor the reservation and blamed booking.com. They also blamed us for not calling the hotel directly. We have used booking.com many times and have not encountered this problem. While we were very disappointed, it may have been for the best given the terrible service we received.

Where do I start? I'm trying to be good-natured but this place makes it hard. I really wanted to give this place a chance. lol. However...

I booked a Jr. Spa room two weeks ago. A day later, they reached out to me to notify me that the hot tub was malfunctioning. They did however have a regular-sized remodeled spa room with a hot tub. Most hotels would just upgrade you but they wanted me to pay $105.00 more for the upgrade (red flag 1). They offered a cheaper room. It doesn't make sense to give me a room for $95-100 less but make me pay $105.00 more for the upgrade a day before arrival

If you don't expect much from something advertised as an Inn & Spa then this is the place for you.
If you expect one to be properly staffed, have well maintained grounds/landscaping, privacy and seclusion then this is not the place for you. upon arrivayou will notice a shabby environment. the drive to your unit is also shared by local residents. The lobby is drab with no real decor. it has a fireplace which is neither inviting and probably hasn't been operable for quite some time. The patio off the lobby has weeds growing everywhere. We wanted to visit the coast for our 12th anniversary and we came to Bodega from Sacramento with our 10 year old son. We figured we'd stay the night so we booked a room at The West Sonoma Inn & Spa. We booked a king with a sofa sleeper and the price was OVER $300 For a Thursday Evening. For this price I did not expect to need to ask for bedding for the sofa. I also expected that when I asked for a pillow for the sofa sleeper that I wouldn't be furnished with decorative cushions and told that's all they had. This place has potential. I frequent to the Guerneville area twice a month. Between never answering the phone and disregarding formal communication to clear up mishaps with booking, I am completely disappointed. As an event planner, I've never seen such rude and poor customer service. I will continue to use other sources for my future stays. Hope to see improvement for a better stay at a potentially great facility.

I have stayed here every year for ten years now and I plan to keep coming back. I love this place and highly recommend it for anyone traveling through or staying in Sonoma County. Jenna and the staff went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable during this time of Covid. I felt safe and the facilities were clean and sanitized. The pool was lovely, clean and relaxing in the daytime heat and the nearby vineyard and redwoods set the scene for a relaxing stay. Can't say enough about how friendly the staff is. Five stars for sure.

West Sonoma Inn & Spa is not currently open yet they are still taking reservations on their website and through many other booking sites. There are no messages on their website indicating West Sonoma Inn & Spa's closure. Repeated calls to the hotel, emails and even a Facebook message did not receive a response. After booking online through West Sonoma Inn & Spa's website, we arrived to find it abandoned with no staff on site and everything completely locked up. I really want to see this place do well since the man who checked us in was so nice and I'm a fan of supporting local businesses. I only took 1 star off because I think for the price we paid, a little more can be done to beautify the exteriors of the place. Old wood, stripped paint, potholes EVERYWHERE-- I read on yelp that they were undergoing renovations because of flooding, but that was more than a year ago. I didn't think it would make a difference to me, as long as the room itself was clean, but it did stand out to leave an impression on me in that way.

Think motel or abandoned hotel. We checked in and immediately checked out. No a/c in any of the rooms. The place was undergoing what I'm guessing are some much needed upgrades. The bathtub was filthy blankets on the bed were used and worn and you had to carry your own bags up two flights of stairs. Booked a "vineyard" view which had a tiny balcony not wide enough for a chair overlooking a parking lot. I would have rather went camping.

Speedy in need of facelift.

I realized it was a weekend but $259 a night for this place was a bit on the spending side in my opinion. Locations great service is good I'll be at the first night there was no heat in my room because they didn't light the pilot light. I think that should've been cause for a price adjustment by itself for sleeping while you're freezing.

Soaps and shampoos are actually top of the line but I was a little worried with the floor mat towel was disgustingly dirty thankfully it was only used for my feet.

LOVED THIS PLACE! HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

Stayed 1 night with friends in the 2 bedroom cottage which was super quaint. Bed was super comfortable.

We booked a couples massage at the spa and chose a Swedish massage with Meg. It was seriously one of the best massages I've ever had. Meg was amazing and the massage was incredible.

Everyone at the inn was super nice. We even left an item behind and they reached out to us to let us know they found it and would ship it to us - really appreciate it!

Can't wait to make a trip up to sonoma again and stay here!

We really enjoyed our stay here! The room was spotless and it had all the amenities you could possibly need. We stayed in a king suite. It was quiet and had good curtains for a good nights sleep. The bed was comfortable, although much softer than I like. There isn't air conditioning, but our room was cool, even during a 97 degree heatwave! I was surprised it never got hot in the room.
The grounds were large, and well-kept. No one bothered us when we slept in and the staff were nice and friendly. There is a place to BBQ, picnic tables and a pool.
The location is great! You can walk to the beach

Perfect location right alongside our Fife Creek restoration project. Worth the visit to see Armstrong Woods (where Fife Creek starts )that runs thru W.So.Inn Property,Absolutely gorgeous! The rooms are so nice ,beds so comfortable ,very clean and great views!
Close to everything that you would want to be close to in Guerneville ! Try their spa and get a massage and afterwords lay by the pool so nice!
