Family Tree Karate focuses on character development, along with physical development. Martial Arts is not about fighting or toughness, but about patience, humility and selflessness. We are dedicated to strengthening families, empowering parents by instilling the same values. We focus on the balanced growth of the student, not just the martial arts techniques.
All instructors have developed with FTK, thus maintaining consistency of philosophy and training. Our instructors care about each and every student. We accept and engage special needs students. We do not lock anyone into contracts. We offer flexible scheduling. We review report cards and school work with parents.

Services
Family Tree Karate is different. We have years of experience in many disciplines and styles. The "Way of the Family Tree" incorporates the precision of a Tae Kwon Do technician, the fluidity of an Aikido master, the purity of a Submission Grappler, and the peacefulness of a Tai Chi artist. We have defined and continue to improve our training to become "The Way of the Family Tree".
It is our belief that children need structure in their lives and a strong support system of family, friends, and mentors for encouragement to enable their growth. At Family Tree Karate, our goal is to help create this structure in a way that provides our younger students with well-defined guidelines, equipping them morally, emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually for the everyday challenges of growing up.
FTK is a mixed martial arts school that focuses on the personal growth of each student. We would be best characterized as a nurturing school for growth, rather than a fighting school. With that said, our curriculum is still challenging.
The "Path to a Family Tree Black Belt" will take years and when it is earned, the student will not only be an excellent and well-balanced martial artist, but he or she will also be a person of strong character, self-awareness, strength, and selflessness.Feel free to visit our school to observe a class or come on the mat and try up to three free classes before you make a decision to join our family.

Here are a few testimonials of our clients experience with Family Tree Karate. We would be honored for you to submit a testimonial as well, simply email it to info@familytreekarate.com for review. We cannot express enough how glad we are to have decided to become a part of Family Tree Karate. We were in search of something to assist us in developing our children as respectable, confident and caring children.
Marinus Hook has decades of training, teaching and merging the styles he studied to create the unique teachings of Family Tree Karate. The named school "Family Tree Karate" was created for two main reasons. First, growing up without parents his school in a way became his family. Secondly, the belief that all martial arts is part of a family under one umbrella.

Most karate studios out there don't take the time to get to know people. They don't take the time to help and nurture each individual. The people here at this karate studio genuinely care about helping people to grow, not just in their knowledge of martial arts, but also the principles of life. Haw to navigate through this messed up world. Family principles that you don't see too often nowadays. I would highly recommend for anyone wanting to help their children grow and wanting to help parents how to bring up their children correctly, to give this studio a try.
